"The Oxford Economics study, due to be completed and released imminently, ..."
I just double-checked my calendar and could not find the month of Imminently. Maybe somebody tore some of my pages out.
Mr Roberts is correct. The sad thing is the majority of Bahamians know the words to Redemption Song by Bob Marley, but dont see the new merchant ships on the horizon. The govt is getting ready to sell us by June of next year. I wonder if the former Head Boy of Hawksbill High currently leading the charge, had back in the 70s thought that one day he would offer up the heads of his countrymen to foreign masters. Is that what it means to be Head Boy?
Why cant this man find a plane departing for ANY other country. Any one. Zambia? Tunisia? Cambodia? I'm sure a GoFundMe would have enough for the plane ticket in less than 24 hours.
Im glad that Ms Alston decided to stop dealing with "jacks" and go back to civilization. Unless you are in tune with the natural cries of wild animals and have experience navigating the tall savannah grasslands, you simply should not set out on safari.
The mentality is here is one of proud ignorance. You can present knowledge spoonfed from a silver platter but the would-be students will simply vomit.
The trophy to be earned and aspired to in this country is a low-rider sports car with 22" rims, big speakers, and a Bob Marley sticker on your gas filler cover plate.
There is nothing more grand. Add to that the secrecy surrounding our tax revenue and directors of education brought forth in a time machine from 1864 and the situation is without hope.
I know a nurse who left and is currently working the drive thru window at a well know fast food restaurant. She has told me that so many customers recognize her from the hospital and consequently take their burgers and fries without paying and just drive off. She overheard one saying (as they drove off) "don't worry 'bout that. She used to not getting paid."
Maybe a huge jail should be built in Andros and ALL Bahamians should be given life sentences there and the whole country be turned over to Haitians? That would be fair and humane and non-racist.
You are correct. I agree 100%. At this time in our development as human society it is an important question which is being decided. Hopefully society will choose to change the law before too many of our own sons and daughters have had their lives ruined or killed. How many is too many?
Sorry bro - but God does not hold a seat in Parliament nor does he want or require one. We are talking about trivial little worldly things here which He expects us to handle.
JoeBlow - i understand it is against the law in this country. Is the law your god? Are MPs gods? They are the ones that make laws. If MPs and their laws are so perfect why does any Party ever lose election? Surely the people would not be disappointed with perfection?
Sorry, but this rare threat is insufficient reason to continue to imprison our young men, give them "no job" police records, and turn them into murderers then causing others to lose their lives.
If you like Fox Hill Prison so much you should ask Min Dames if you can pay to rent a room there.
