Mark my words, these 7 are going nowhere.
But pawns in a game of power, of no intended benefit to anyone but themselves.

"First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win. Mahatma Gandhi."
The money behind this is the real cause and curse, the 7 are but pawns in a game driven by fear, fear of the unknown. Fear of not being in control Fear of losing political influence.
But is the unknown worse than our reality? Not for the majority of Bahamians.
No matter, as we are usually convinced that "This" garbage is better than "that" garbage,
conveniently forgetting that it is all garbage.

The_Oracle says...

I disagree, but Government has been trying to kill it ever since then!
They'd like nothing more, but kill it and the little bit of industry we have here will roll out.

The_Oracle says...

"Men of authority have employed all the destructive agents around them to promote their own personal interests at the sacrifice of every just, honorable, and lawful consideration." John White Geary
With respect to The H.C.A, the importation of Bonded goods (actually conditionally duty free) has been occurring since the agreements inception, with the "over the counter sale of bonded goods" almost as long. with growth comes changes to facilitate, as opposed to actions designed to stifle and "kill off" growth, but successive Governments have always been happy to trade growth for control. Civil servants and Government officials alike have forgotten that the rules and regulations as written, not as interpreted by them, are to be observed and followed by Citizen and government alike. If an interpretation is required, the courts are there to provide same.
No doubt however, there will be ensuing attacks against Port licensees under the H.C.A,
as unlike any 3 year old, The Government never learns from their mistakes, rather repeats them endlessly, to the detriment of all, including the treasury.

The_Oracle says...

Remember the shrink wrapping machine/service near the Bahamasair counter in Miami?
Well now it is located in front of Jet Blu and American airlines, wrapping "luggage" non stop for bags boxes going to Cuba. Government may create "employment" in the Civil service, but unless there is a robust private sector to foot the bills,(and provide real employment) paychecks will fall short or stop.
No, we bought into these fools and their crap, we will suffer the consequences.

He isn't worried, he has Solar right?
Beyond the reach (and permission) for ordinary Bahamians.
Shameless.

The_Oracle says...

Mind they don't decide to pull out altogether, Leaving you to put your Money
in BOB! (where the Govt. can tief it) or Commonwealth Bank, damn, more White man.......
It would be funny if it weren't so damn stupid! When the profits disappear, so too will business interests.
Your Union will end up a Union of the Unemployed.
I agree the service and crowds at the banks is a disgrace, no excusing that, especially the banks mentioned.

The_Oracle says...

We Bahamians need to stop asking "from whom do I need permission"
and start asking "who will stop me?"
We have been dumbed down, cut short and generally treated like fodder for mushrooms,
with self preservation being the strongest gene, developed because of our generally easy and well fed lifestyle.
That has changed, gradually for decades but getting more severe.
The PLP will not meet the demands, and that is just fine.
Because the next Government will perhaps understand "business as usual" is over.
And that is a good thing.

The_Oracle says...

Looks like crap. Stupidest thing i've seen. But not surprised.

The_Oracle says...

Yeah, I understand PGC's house is festooned with Solar Panes also,
Wonder who "donated" those.......
Betcha he is using them to the fullest too.
Unfortunately we the people have allowed this "above the law and Man" to develop into outright Entitlement in leadership.
