"Mr Hanna, who was transferred to Grand Bahama in December, said he is not aware of any complaints made to Fire Services concerning onsite burning at the scrapyard."
Fire? What Fire? I een smell no fire!!
So Typical! they've been burning the plastic off of wire there for ages.
Do they remove fuel and oil from junk cars? Doubtful.
Do they store waste oil and gas properly? Doubtful.
Is it a toxic waste site? Absolutely.
Can you say "politically connected"?
The Port is, as always, oblivious.

The Pinky ring is a tell, anyone who plays poker looks for other players tell.
It tells he is bluffing or lying.
Word on the street is the Cabinet members who got concessions on the property and contracts, store locations all panicked, scared they'd lose their Money.
Transparency in it's definition means "seen through"
The only way Sarkis will get clear of this is to reveal all the "concessions" given in return to Political families.

Funny how he thinks anyone cares if he leaves, probably least of all his Bahamian front/Partner!
Not saying it is right, as we need to be concerned about the decay of our country, and the exodus of Bahamian and foreigner alike.
All are making plans, and moving money out.
Remember Jamaica?
Quite a few came here late 60's 70's with talent and whatever they could carry/sneak out!
The political class do not care, as they will rule over a garbage dump of their own making and still fight to be on top! (king of the pile of ****)
At this point is recovery even possible if they were all struck by lightning and saw the light?
doubtful.

He may have learned a valuable lesson,
but they now own him!
He has allowed his Ego to sell his integrity down river.
He could come back,
but not as a part of the machine which is the problem.

While I applaud Fred's continuing actions with respect to the H.C.A.
History has show it is for naught but Posterity.
This Government, nor any prior Government has had any respect for this agreement made by the Governing council of the day.
Nor does the Government give any regard to the numerous court Judgments that have ruled against the Government in their repeated arbitrary and nonsensical actions against the benefits contained therein.
Nor will they ever realize the enormous potential of this agreement in the context of the Bahamas today, and in the context of economic development in the face of Trade Agreements and WTO.
What a phenomenal waste of the vision as it was, what an incredible blindness to the potential as it is.

Immediate family also. Not the cousin's uncle's daughter's boyfriend,
her frigging daughter who probably wouldn't have gotten in the door without her MOMMY paving the way and putting her forward!
I have no doubt this is only the tip of the Iceberg, as MOMMY probably called the bank manager and guaranteed loans to fund it!
Now multiply this scenario by the # of cabinet ministers and the real picture comes into focus.
These people have no sense of propriety, no shame.
Keep digging people, you'll find the bodies!

Grassroot, if the Government deported everyone (including Bahamians) they didn't like there'd be none but political idiots left!
Xenophobic nepotistic kleptomaniacs all.

Should administer “psychological evaluations” to all politicians first and foremost!
Mandatory ethics courses would go far as well, though they'd all achieve the national grade average.
98% of them would be weeded out by the above two criteria.
How about along with financial statements we require "outside children counts"?
Default loan information? Bounced checks declarations?
Arrogant, ignorant and self serving.

If it is true that Cabinet members gained lucrative contracts and franchises,
it would show motive to Wind it up and control the process locally:
They must have had to put some personal funding up for their "sweetheart"deals,
and winding up gives them first pick at recouping their expenses/losses.
Think about it.
Foreign jurisdiction bankruptcy proceedings precludes them from pillaging at will.
As for Fred, has not the Government been bought by the Chinese Government,
perhaps more easily than Nygard apparently thinks he did?

You want respect?
Then Earn it! Should be easy as you are starting from zero!
Your 40 year old strategy of riling up "the Natives" against the foreign invader is done,
notwithstanding that you and your ilk are primarily responsible for the majority of suffering that Bahamians must endure.
You may well want an exodus of foreign investors who belong to the 1% club, as you might end up atop the pile of little that would be left.
Enjoy the flies Fred.
