Paying VAT at the boarder IS paying VAT on the purchase (and shipping!) price.
when it is imported.
VAT at both points would be double taxation!
They are going to bring this economy to its knees,
and then wonder why their revenue dried up.
Couldn't turn a dollar into 50 cents if they tried.

Well I'll me damned,
is Christie about to do the right thing?
If he does there is a list of those who should follow,
in fact like Dominoes!
Ending w/ double sixes of course!

No matter what they write into law, They will still do what they do so well.
They write the laws to use against us, not themselves.
As for the Central Revenue Admin,
now we know why Ingraham and Laing created that in the 2010 budget.
After all, these goofs could only back into a problem.
The PLP and FNM own VAT jointly.
One creates it, the other got caught holding the bag.
They've been playing political tag with VAT since 2003.

Stringent maybe for export, but still based on who ya know!

Implementing VAT will hit people, the economy and Government vary hard.
it is not just the %, that they can raise at will.
It is the whole concept of Government becoming more powerful, dictatorial and immune to any sort of criticism or complaint, and giving themselves the power to persecute individuals at will and to their end.
If the last 50 years has taught us anything, it is that we are not fit to govern ourselves,
and we are by and large sheep, silent aside our grumblings in private.
The few who speak out are one by one picked off, destroyed or silenced.
All that is left is Sheep to be sheared.
The Blades of VAT and Government are sharp.

Death and Taxes, the only two sure things in life.....
Of course it will go up, sooner than later, John Rolle said as much above in plain english!
"This is different to what he told Tribune Business in a June 30 interview, as Mr Rolle said then that the VAT rate was likely to be increased “in the not too distant future”.
Once the legislation is in place, the mechanism for rate increases is also in place.
That he (like them all) changes his mind endlessly,
is no different than the child trying different excuses until one takes.

Perhaps a great number of businesses will not reopen come Jan 2nd,
maybe arrange global staff vacations for the first week or two or three in Jan.
whatever they're eligible for.
See who squeals first.
At least sit back and avoid the fiasco.

Nah, they will sleep on and it will stop them!
You couldn't screw this up more efficiently if you tried and were qualified!
Beware the power they are giving themselves,
when turned upon you,
they will bleed you to death.
I've seen the level of intelligence (seriously lacking)
and the level of arrogance they possess first hand.
After VAT,
there will be no recourse for anyone they target.
Lawful or otherwise.

Thisisours, you have just barely hit the tip of the iceberg,
The abandonment of every personal human trait responsible for societies to succeed and develop in relative peace and harmony,
The abandonment of law enforcement, and elimination of the penalities for transgression which keep the majority of us honest.
We are right where we belong, as we have elected the worst among us, allowed them to get away with every imaginable crime through our silence or complicity or indifference.
