The over reaction initially was to be expected, what with the unknown aspects of infection, spread and lack of defined treatment protocols,
but In all reality it has become a case of burning a house down because a spider was found.
It has also now become a joke. The arbitrary nature of the A, A1, B B2 through 5.
I can understand allowing Hardware/houseware stores to open on Wednesdays and Fridays, I mean, everyone knows you can catch Covid in those stores on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and after 1pm on Saturdays.
Obviously shoe Stores, unlike Food stores are absolute Hotbeds of 24/7 Covid contagion.
It did take liquor stores a while to figure out how to chase covid out of their category of business.
The arbitrary nature of Island by Island relief to conduct "life" is a mystery no mere mortal can understand, I assume one must be a "competent Authority" at least in name and title to get that scenario.
Ever read medicine instructions? Take with meals, no dairy, no alcohol, stay out of the sun, etc etc. All perfect scenario terms and conditions, but never adhered to in totality.
Balance. Without an economy you got nothing.

Oh my, this Dr. will be the next one under the political bus.
His Crime? Honesty.

Geez Tal, get over it. not that D'agular is competent or anything but damn man,
Pindling was shit. Ingraham was shit. Same with Christie.
Shit floats. Minnis is positively Buoyant! We set the bar so low it is buried in mud.
To be fair, that has worked for us. for 50 years.Where little is expected, less is given.
But things have changed.
Slackness is no longer sufficient. Even if we decided we need better what ass would attempt to right this ship when 70-80% or more don't actually want the ship righted?

"However on Friday, Dr Merceline Dahl-Regis, coordinator of the government’s COVID-19 response, said some Family Islands have not been compliant with social distancing."
This statement is telling. So you have a lawful punishment for those who violated the law. No Problem. (if they did) So why then punish the whole community extraneously?
Punishment aught to be administered by the courts, not a Medical officer or a Prime Minister!
Not even a Police officer! A police officer conducts you to your punishment (if at that point you are found guilty)
Herein lies the root of this problem.
One group of people setting itself up and Judge Jury and executioner.

A very lovely and flowery ERC document has appeared, wonderful.
It contains very little of anything, aside definitions of 5 words, Resilient, Dynamic, Inclusive, Sustainable, all conjoined with the word Economy.
A+ for presentation. D- for content. I hope it was just a test of the marketing skills of whomever created it.
Oh, I almost forgot, It does outline the various Sub Committees, but that to me equates to "watering down" The time line just got exponentially increased, for any result we are praying for.
I think we would be foolish to believe anything will come of these committees, certainly not anything the Government will implement in unadulterated form in any case.
But go ahead, prove me wrong. I'll eat crow if wrong.

We don't need a Vaccine, testing is needed sure, for those suspected of being infected, but what we really need is a tried and true treatment regime, to standardize treatment and eliminate the mortality to the maximum extent possible.
As it stands the first world with the latest and greatest equipments and methods are still experimenting, if I am not mistaken.
Mass testing has it's loopholes, and could be considered a scattershot approach.
Test me today and I get infected as I leave the Dr.s Office. Results are available in a few days?
Immediately? Irrespective I'd need to be tested again the following day. Or will be tested once I suspect i'm sick.
IF i suspect i'm sick.
So, I'll settle for a tried and proven standard method of treatment.

No Worries, the P.M. is currently announcing the Covid "Crabbing rules"
I shyte you not.
This nitpicking open this day not this day or yes for this business but no for that is Garbage.
He is single handedly killing this country economically.
Oh, and now we will have Travel permission cards? Can anyone say Soviet?
Achtung! Your Papers Please!
such an infantile approach in some ways, but so convoluted in others.

So we have more apparent incompetence in Government (no surprise) which didn't leave with Dr. Sands. (again, no surprise)
We also have openly disingenuous behavior from them regarding inter island transport.
More swabs delivered directly to Abaco?
Who is gonna resign on that one?
If you're going to lockdown a small island population for two weeks, you set up food and water shipments and proper distribution before hand. Some truly need, some don't, but if it's free you know we are all gonna line up!
I know the Bahamas Resources are scarce, but what we do have isn't being used effectively.
These no notice announcements of lockdowns are as bad as the teachers and their Pop Quizzes. Sadistic.
