Why are they even putting a "Junkanoo Museum" in the Port? Spread your attractions out! Get tourists a cleaner bay street and create extended areas to be safe in.
A single attorney representing both parties must recluse themselves from both parties in the event of a dispute. They cannot side with either else they seriously expose themselves to liability. Am I wrong?
You have to back up and realize, even though he took no portfolio he has consistently been micro managing them all. Continuing the rule by personality trap they all fall and fail into. This falls apart far more spectacularly under the kind of pressure he is under, but has largely created for himself. Time will tell. I hope for the best, but am prepared for the worst.
Steep promise for a mere mortal and of no consolation for those already hungry for a few weeks of your economic folly. First Tough Decision, Half pay for Furloughed (no working) Civil servants. As delineated fro those Civil servants who do no work anyway. Cut those loose permanently. Better yet, 30% pay cut for those working, 60% for those not. One tests positive on a flight arrives in G.B. but the Covid count doesn't change, 4 traveling together tested and awaiting results. Hmm. What is the sense in rules and protocols if you can't seem to follow them? Is pre-testing showing negative required pre flight, or not? Your written act contains a loophole, allowing for post arrival testing!
No worries about China owning the Bahamas, they don't want land, they want fisheries which are already underwater......... Borrow big, Borrow hard? why not, if you stand no chance of paying it back....... Insane. We need a cash crop, that can earn U.S. $$ Only one I know of. Irrespective of your personal views on Marijuana it is a literal cash crop, potentially. 3-4 months average grow time. A local cooperative, export only (local leakage will occur but shouldn't be too hard to manage) Find some experts fast and let them have at it. Lease them crown land. Start on more isolated islands if you wish. Keep the criminals out of it. We have very few options, and even less time.
We have many needs, Hurricane shelter, but also potable water in homes over the hill. Don't forget the need for swabbs. and for Food assistance. And the resolution of the bodies in Abaco. And Housing. Decent hospitals. and a Plan. Accountability. Herein lies the problem of self determination, authority without responsibility. We need a bigger prison too. We have many many needs, none seemingly too difficult, but apparently all beyond the reach of the Bahamas for 50 years.
I think devaluation is inevitable, particularly due to the fact Tourism (U.S. income) will be the last to rebound, if one is hopeful enough to call it a rebound. About the only thing I see capable of offsetting that revenue loss at this point is growing Marijuana for export. I say that even though I'm not particularly an advocate for it's use. Oil? Diamonds? Gold? nope. don't have any, and the oil timeline is too long if found. How long to the first crop? it is a weed isn't it? Create a cooperative, and sell like hell to the U.S. or Europe. Find other hardy crops for export to grow as well but that one is high $$ and quick.
OK licks2, I'll play the game, yes the order makes him the "competent authority" to use the term if not the definition, and who moved that order in the house?
