"*ignoring “pipeline” business that could be worth up to $7m in fee income for the platform.*"
I'd like to see justification for the *pipeline*. It would stand to reason that while not impossible to resurrect, in the short term people would be reluctant to take the risk "**unless**" these are some very exciting and innovative prospects
The one aspect I find very troubling about this is that the organization lobbying to shut them down wants to jump into the same business space, you then have to ask yourself, should a regulator also be conducting a for profit business? We really need strong anticompetitive laws in this country.
"*He is receiving some sort of help. ..they could not force him into some rehabilitation center to receive some help. But what I was advised was that he was to go and receive the necessary help so that he could get himself back to the Kai Jones that we once knew. Not wanting to go into the details ....*"
Too late. That's the worst "*dont want to go into too much detail*" statement ever.
Said previously that one of my concerns about these kids is while fame is goal achieved, some aren't ready for it and are very susceptible to the dark side of it. My advocacy at that time was for the ministry to have a program to deal with mental and financial strengthening to go along with the focus on physical skills. It's too late once they get the contract.
I think theres more here than the argument being put forward. I'm very very concerned that the SEC is bringing this action AND wants to be a competitor
It's also puzzling that about the exact time FTX was imploding whistleblowers came to spill the beans. Could be coincidence... but a very strange one
Strange article that ignores the govt sanctioned environmental damage we are doing to ourselves while the PM goes around the world lecturing countrues on what theyre doing to us. I wait for the day when another country leader stands up and shows before and after hill structures in Nassau and Andros, 1967 to present day, and questions the PM on what happened?
As to the poll, I have questions about the "not paid for it" status, were they paid for something else or promised contracts for something else. I have questions about the timing of the poll coming after parliament was prorouged, Mother Pratt appointment ceremony and a few weeks for the ashes to settle on Keith Bell.
On this one we dont need a whistleblower. Its been clear for sometime that something was wrong. Months ago I made the statement that the way theyre trying to beat blood out of rocks for money from citizens (all while crowing about the tremendous growth of the economy and tourism is back!), the country must be hanging off the economic cliff by its fingernails. They can always *say* anything, their actions will tell
"*Halkitis, though, said Mr Ferguson's concerns had not come to the Government's attention*"
Lol. Ferguson: "*...the Treasury is making selective payments to particular entities, *"... Halkitis: "*it hasnt been brought to our attention that we're making selective payments*"
"*More women*" and "*more young people*", Im confused by both phrases. Would "*More Bahamians*" resolve the flooding by the Pointe? What the country needs is less corruption and more people with character and ethics.
I firmly believe that as a society we have no ethics, we dont even have a concept of what it means, why its it's important or how the absence of it has led to 7 dollar gas at the pump and 3 dollar apples.
I chuckled on hearing the account of US politician Menendez alledged to have illegally assisted a foreign power, the charges read that they found thousands of dollars in cash and gold bars in his house. Gold bars.. lol. My first thought was, he must be a Bahamian.
Funny but not funny.
Two(?) years ago someone I respected said, "*what's wrong with accepting a nice watch or a plane ride?*". Absolutely no understanding that that is how the criminal/manipulator, call it Satan if you wish, buys you. They do it slowly. It's a master marketing plan. Before you know it the man going into Bain Town to buy underage Bahamian girls to sexually molest at his Lyford Cay home is publicly calling you "*his man of business*", and is on video shooting up some unknown drug into his arm as the entire Parliament power broker set sits and smiles. Correction, he sending you to buy the girls to bring to him with you fully aware of his intentions. He's bought your good name. And you no longer blink at any perversion he does or requests of you. And your bishop says I have no problem, tithes get paid regularly.
Would more women make men more appreciative of women's issues, I guess. Would it make the country better? I seriously doubt it. Miriam Immanuel? Lanesha Rolle? I could literally call all of them. No difference. They went along with whatever program was laid before them. Marital rape is a private matter?
