It would be interesting to know who advised Mr Davis in this oversight with potentially huge ramifications. Sometimes it's good to have people who disagree with you around the table, just as an extra incentive for you to do all of your research
I'm baffled by our weather alerts. From a Nassau perspective, I kept waiting for the heavy rains that never came, had elderly relatives who were panicking but it was almost entirely a wind event, rough seas and some spotty rain. The alert for tornadic activity came after the waterspout video was posted (or maybe I wasn't paying attention). I wish someone would explain. When I watch Floridian news stations those meteorologists are able to pinpoint exact time location and activity to within the hour. Is the difference that their land mass is bigger? We got doppler radar systems within the Christie administration was it? So I dont get why it seems like we only know what's **really** going to happen after it happens. The heavy rain out west 3 weeks ago was a surprise, im sure they knew it would rain but I dont recall them say anything like expect 1ft of flooding on the airport road. Why? How accurate can predictions be for our size?
"*This was the single ugliest thing I’ve seen in 18 years that I’ve been doing this. This was the ugliest thing I’ve seen. I deal with Mexican air space, and this thing was not there, but it was ugly all the way around. It was ugly, but the good news is we’ll never know how bad it could have been, but I have to tell you I think it would have been really bad.”*
Who designed this thing? Better yet who selected it as the "solition"?
I dont know who is in charge of "digitization". Its clear they're not designers. So far it seems as if they believe the goal is met once you can type something in a computer. This satisfies most Bahamians as "revolutionary", I suppose it is given the previous process but across the board they've missed the "transformation" part. It's the same backward process with a computer interface. Anyone implementing a digital system to cause more work for the user or backend processors has completely missed the point
"*A tornado swept a small area of Harbour Island, twenty minutes by plane from Nassau, at 2 A. M. today, killing a woman and injuring two others. Nine houses were destroyed*"
I hope they're doing this strategically and ensuring that persons receiving the large grants are "real" farmers understanding the science behind the industry and modern techniques. We dont have alot of money you want to ensure it has maximum impact. For the people who just "planting and watering seeds" they can get a small stipend cuz food is food.
There's a 2022 invention called a camera. Contract a foreign firm, keep "some" locations secret. Knowledge that you're being monitored is a deterrent for "most" anti-behaveyuhself people. Would be even better if they could be rotated so people dont guess the locations. We have sensors to count cars travelling across certain intersections incorporate that technology too
The penalty for dumping is impounding of the vehicle used for 1 month and temporary suspension of driver's license . You can incorporate a fine, but most people caught will likely not have the funds to pay, on the other hand, they will immediately feel the loss of their vehicle
