I doubt any FNM gov't could be compared to any PLP government. Look at Shane Gibson, Michelle Reckley, Frank Smith, Kenrod Dorsette, to name a few. Those were PLP. who some are still proud of. People not going to forget those characters. I'm still not sure what Chapman is talking about. He wasn't in Grand Bahama or Abaco. The focus wasn't Nassau, and Abaco had more focus here in Grand Bahama. All international partners were pleased with the handling of the mess of Dorian. the food just stop being issued yesterday. People eat more and had more than they have had in years. I can't see them putting Brave as the PM maybe some of you can!! Fixin this place will not happen overnight.I hate it when we mix up people's lives with politics!
"Seventy-four percent of the force was stationed in New Providence. Another 18 percent was stationed on Grand Bahama, and eight percent on the Family Islands."
This is the problem... while in live in Grand Bahama, I was born in Spring City , Abaco, but all family islands are neglected. They, as in all governments, never see the need to properly staff them! Same complaint in east End as well. Just One and 2 officers

This is a quote from the previous tribune report last year May. I'm glad I'm posting before anyone else. Now we know where the security is. Both governments and the ones before them never saw the need to place sufficient officers on family islands. That 8 % is shared among the the other family islands, including Abaco...So for brave to be talking hip is far beyond me. Nassau still have all the police and yet they have all the crime...Da fell a is big joke!!
I really can't believe this hurricane is political, but it is. I was in High Rock this weekend, no police there either. In fact the police station is no more. The place is mostly a ghost town with a few residence trying to pick up the pieces. Moores Island ain the only one don't have nuttin. Parts of Grand Bahama too! I Don't know where Bahamians get the idea that the government owe them anything. I fix my place myself with my insurance that I paid, no government came to my place, I don't want him round my place! It only cud happen here.
Maybe you not living in Grand Bahama or Abaco, because no one who is living in those 2 islands has time to listen to political foolishness... people on both islands have lost their lives and are hurting.. we need to leave politics out of this storm. Chester and Brave them trying to turn this into a political storm, it's not. They will not get into any house of assembly with this. For the most part, we here in Grand Bahama are quite satisfied with the response and efforts put forth by the government. I don't know about Abaco, I don't live there. From what I see here the government will take those 5 seats again without McAlpine!
In reading up on this it seems this was going on for about 10 years.. seems all of the administrations are to be blamed. It just happen to come to head under the current administration, just like BPL
It So sad, this problem just started 2 years ago under an FNM government. Nassau always had light before 2 years ago. the Government should be fired!!!
I was surprised after seeing this on the TV that that rate drop is still what it is, considering the number of people that was fired in the early going...
