Brave say the PLP is concern about the long delay....hummm real interesting.. the same group of people who didn't even do anything on their watch...these guys are full of it. No matter how long it takes , it progress. People ain't stupid as they make them out to be. I don't even live there an to me that is better late than never... maybe others see it differently.
Seems a smart political move, Exuma was always for the gold clans...Chester cud learn a few tricks when he become DPM if and when that happens, yes?no??? haha
I visited that place a too many times, and even took wayward boys to see it for a tour and crime prevention measures...I seen it with my own eyes, 5 gallon buckets for toilet, 5 and 6 fellas in an 8X 6 cell with heat and no ventilation....the idea is not to got there, but our young males believe they are invincible.... jail is no joke!! Don't go there ahahah
Anyone seen the Bazaar lately? or the surrounding hotel properties? They need to be demolished...they are all eyesore, bush and weed.. I pass them every day to and from work. Maybe you folks in Nassau cannot appreciate what the gov't is trying to do, so we use the medium to cut down and criticize what is being done. Most of us here can live with that. You better hope Atlantis or Baha mar don't close. My take is better to save a hotel, keep it attractive til a buyer comes along. No one wants the Royal Oasis now, its just an old building sitting in the bushes.
These cases are real tricky. I remember the four missing boys. I worked on that case. They are not as open and shut as they appear to be. I think prayers solve that one. Even with international partners it was next to impossible. Grand Bahama doesn't have all of the population like the capitol.
Actually it makes a lot of sense. The ranks are clogged up in the senior officers. The last promotion could have been use for 4 different promotion. THose fellas gratuity alone wil break the treasury aahahah
Maybe the FNM should be praise for finally seeing that that old rundown BEC generator was worthless. I'm not sure, but I think those who pay light bill would be happy. I went to Nassau a few years back one summer and the light was out about 8 hours each day of my 4 days holiday, no open concept homes.... I was pissed. Not use to that here in Grand Bahama. get the new generator, I think it will win some votes ahahah. As for the great McAlpine, he will be another fella who will lose if he tries to run independent. Time will tell. He is an Andrea Rollins in disguise. Not sure any one wants him in their camp.
Bahamain dem like to wait for last minute, Easter round the corner. I already fill in application for my new one which will expire in late September of this year. We love to suffer for lack of planning then we complain. ahahah.
After 30 years you stay at your own risk, at 30 years you are pensionable, which means you can go when they see it fit. Nothing political. Those young officers are glad, there is space opening up not for them and others.
In the police force after 30 years you are serving at the pleasure of the government. Hubert Ingraham sent home many officer who were over 30 years, some just were 55 years old. Perry brought many of them back... It is not a right or entitlement to go for 40 years. Police earn pensions at 30 years, after that they can either leave or hope to get stay and make 40 years in the inspector or above ranks. The longer you stay the more gratuity you get. The deputy and commissioner is the toughest to be removed under the police act. See Greenslade and B.K. Bonamy. The government bargain with them to get them to go because they could not be touch by law.
