Folks, right near where OBAN will be built is another refinery called statoil, and in Freeport is another refinery called BORCO... these refineries run like clock work, BORCO has been giving off an odor from time to time but they are there doing what they are suppose to. This island is the industrial capital of the Bahamas, If you make noise about OBAN then make noise about the other two, which has been around forever and supported by both governments and all are by the sea. I'm not sure why persons living in Nassau or any where else making noise, they don't live here in Freeport. Its our island if anything let us complain. As I said of the Bimini Bay resort, much noise about the environment, and the coral.. but hey close it down now, so who will be getting the blame the government...we need to get real here people...the coral will not die, the environment will live on, trust me...I see all that nasty oil coming out the Clifton Pier Plant from BPL, it is in the water heck we need to complain about Nassau, they need to shut BPL down!!! People with glass houses do not throw stones!!
The blacklist will be linked to EU legislation so that jurisdictions implicated will not be eligible for funds from the bloc except where it is to aid development.
We as a people eliminated the web shops, we voted, via referendum, and spoke loud and clear, but alas! our government still saw the need to still move forward with it.. as it is often said, we reap what we sow Gal. 6:7
Guys don't forget, that blacklisting well effect all Bahamians, no matter what color of shirt dey does wear, maybe we should hope for the best... maybe
Sickened. seem they still paying off the old debts from your old government... did you read any of the headlines yesterday? They do hip with the money, including buying lunch with the tax payers money, and you and I will pay... continue to defend them
Those fellas just got new cars under Perry dem, the PLP buy plenty of police cars, no one but the police fault. Here in Grand Bahama they still have some of those old Crown Victoria's, the blue ones. Those officers know when they break up the cars they will get more, just the Nassau set. There may be 3 or 4 of the Ford Taurus here.
I assume it will work the same was as the the other two oil refineries we have here. I guess Nassau folks have no worried, you have everything there....I see the minister is saying GB has just 18% of the officers and family Island 8%.. Nassau 73% I guess many here will feel better GB gets no oil refinery as well... heck say something positive on here, this your country too. When GB goes bad, the Bahamas goes bad...We all know Nassau gat everything...They get all the police dem, and all the equipment, let someone else live and stop talking foolishness... cut us some slack and think positive on this deal... cause if its fail, it will be you all who now talking bout unemployment...
No matter how you slice it, the fact are the facts, bottom line? Dirty, dirty , dirty, but these fellas wanted to get back in, and some want them back in... to finish the job I guess..I think more forensic audits are on the way, we wait and see. If I'm not mistaken, all of us that work and pay taxes are affected here, I can find one excuse for them squandering the money to they own !
