Under the Police Act any serving officer of or above the rank of inspector after they have serve 30 years they work at the pleasure of the Government, they are pensionable. The government can do what they want after 30 years, most civilians don't understand that, but once you have 30 years and carry the rank of Inspector or above you can be let go.
With regard to the death penalty it's still on the books, heck use it! We use the same law to prosecute drug dealers, teefers and pick pocketers, all that is on the books, use all! It doesn't matter whether it stops murder or no, its the law.
I saw that story in the punch yesterday, in fact it's there twice, front page they called the names of Grey and Obie on the inside of grapewine they used almost the same story but didn't call any names. Someone is lying ahaahah, time will tell!
Heck, if Hubert Ingraham as was there he would have been gone long time. During the promotion exercise he promoted two of his sons. They have 3 and 5 years in the job, he knew he was gone!
Just a point to make here. The police can hold anyone for not more than 48 hours on suspicion. Once that time has expired they have to be released or charge the individual. They can pick them up from anywhere and used any means necessary to bring them in or suspicion. In the case of Smith at BAIC they found not evidence so they released them. This Dorsette matter he was charge. When you do hip in public office you should be made to pay the price. We regular people if we did it we would be arrested, they not different. If Brave want to call charging an individual for a crime a witch hunt then das he fault.Nail em all!!!
It would appear that some of us are happy for a downgrade because now the other party is the government. This is rather stupid. PLPs and FNMs and whoever will all feel the blunt of this storm. I still trying to figure out how some of us can say it's the FNM fault when clearly all those contracts, and spending a just up to May 10 was done by the PLP. It's been exactly 2 months. Brvae is still an idiot, he has short memory, very short. It was his government... You people are sick! Downgrades don't come in gold, red or green, it comes in "People" who will pay the price for it.!
I often ask myself, who the hell would want to be a prime minister or commissioner of police in our country. They must be insane. There is no fix. I look at small island nations like Singapore, Vietnam, blazing economies, growth each year. Then I look at us... nuff said.
The previous government made the promise to pay... they knew it was no money bit they promise anyway, they wasted all that money on over promoting the rank and file, stupid election ploy, so now the overtime which was mandated by the court some 3 years ago had now been promise to be paid. It had nothing to do with the new government.
