Great post Baha 10......it's show and tell time!!!!!!

And look what happened to the rookie "New Generation" fellas!!! Frustrated with the "Post Independence PLP" they spoke up and are now relegated to the sidelines. How sad; they may have held the best hope for turning the PLP into something of value!

Ms. Butler Turner has thrown down the gauntlet to Messrs. Mitchell and Gibson!! Good job! But initiating this process is just the beginning of what could be a long drawn out battle. Press releases, challenges and criticisms made across the floor of the House of Assembly are one thing; making any progress in having offending Ministers removed, or having them apologize and withdraw offensive remarks is quite another.

The same can said regarding Mr. Minnis' challenge to Attorney General Maynard Gibson; the remarks were justly made, but what happens next is far more difficult and much more important.

Empty rhetoric bouncing around the H of A changes nothing. We wait to see whether or not our Opposition is determined, persistent and skilled enough to achieve any meaningful changes.

I have no objection to politicians owning businesses, but what I do object to, and find to be absolutely obscene, is the pure and unadulterated greed of our AG, who obtained leases for six jewelry stores In Baha Mar, while simultaneously negotiating and approving the legal agreements between the Bahamas government and the Developers.

What about the business interests of other Bahamian jewelry store owners who would have considered the opportunity to lease just one store in Baha Mar as the chance of a lifetime?

Of course the AG is guilty of a conflict of interest!! Does she really think that the Bahamian public believes her assertion that her family's lease of these six stores is simply "business as usual?"

If corruption is to be one of the main talking points during the next election, each and everyone running for the fnm must be squeaky clean! Has the missing $10 million from the hospital been addressed yet? What does Hubert Minnis have to say about that? Didn't that happen on his watch as Minister of Health? Have all of our FNM Members of Parliament made their financial declarations yet? Some were singled out as being tardy in this regard. There cannot be a single weak link in the FNM chain!!

Wideawake says...

Emac, I agree completely with your comments! Voters are tired of the old-style politics from both the PLP and the FNM. Unless the FNM replaces it's leader and presents a slate of exciting new candidates, many former FNM voters may choose the DNA in an act of desperation.
