How long will it take to realize that the owners of Atlantis, The Ocean Club, and other resort properties, don't want Bahamians on Paradise Island, period. All of this talk about beach access, and the right to operate a business on Cabbage Beach by a Bahamian, is wasted breath, because these resorts will not stop until there is no more beach access. I, for one refuse to patronize any of these properties, as I am made to feel that I am only allowed to spend my money at their pleasure. This discrimination must stop.

It has been reported in local talk shows, that the decision on the Nolle was made weeks ago by the AG's office. If so, why did they mislead the country into thinking that charges may be brought against Sandals (which would have been wrong). The Prime Minister and Minister of Labour both have stated that they knew nothing about this decision, and the Minister of Labour has stated that he feels slighted by these actions. Has the chairman been instructed now by the party, to defend and support her actions? What a tangled web.

Does all of this mean that there will be no need to urinate overboard behind the stalls? Wonderful.
I give any toilet facilities on Potters Cay Dock one week before they will be unusable.

The key question here is what did the Government give the China Export-Import Bank in exchange for the 100 million. Bahamar, under the deal set up by Sarkis was doomed to fail from the get go, and there is no possible way that this resort could repay, or even service interest on a 2 to 3 billion dollar loan, pay utilities, taxes, salaries, and kickbacks. The Chinese knew that they would eventually end up with the property and the resort but it happened sooner than they expected. I guess we will find out soon enough how far down the river we have been sold. Better get your oars out; we have a lot of rowing to do.

The PLP has always blackballed Long Island especially the Central and Southern areas. Loretta has been MP under them and has had her hands tied as to what she could do with respect to any support from the government. Unfortunately, and if truth be told, the FNM did very little for them in the 15 years that they had the government. The lesser of two evils will be the FNM, but as far as any concrete development plans by either party for the people of Long Island, that is wistful thinking.

I can't imagine how this is going to be administered.

If this was a Bahamian business that had been ordered to shut down by the Supreme Court, the principals would be sleeping in the Department of Corrections Hotel. by now. However, as in all things foreign in our country, they disobey the courts instructions, and operate with impunity while being protected by government ministers. Immigration is another department that is treated with disdain by foreigners.

while Long Islanders have LONG been neglected by successive governments, they are a resilient people who stick together and help each other out of every adversity. They are not ignorant people who are rabble roused to vote for a candidate by bribes and parties around election time. They will elect the person they feel is the best candidate for them, and Rollins/Tennyson Wells will not be one of them. Long Island has elected an independent candidate before, in the person of Larry Cartwright, after they tired of the same old bogus promises of Jimmy Knowles, and it could very well be that Ian Knowles, as an independent will be the front runner. The only problem with this is that Independent candidates have little effect in parliament, and no matter how good their intentions, usually are not able to accomplish much unless they join up with the governing party. Nonetheless, they will elect the person they feel is best suited for the job. They are still feeling the sting of pain left by hurricane Joaquin, and this fact, could also place the PLP out of the picture, leaving only Mrs. Butler-Turner, and Mr. Knowles (should he decide to run), as the viable candidates.

If there is one thing we have all learned about ikaliki is that he has a very limited and vulgar vocabulary. There are more acceptable ways to dipslay one' s opinions than to say F$%^ in each of his expressions. I would venture his next response is to tell me F$%^ you. I am somewhat surprised that his comments today were even printed.
