Was just brought to my attention. Seems like CIA disinformation. Putin has more pressing concerns. The west still pulling on the bear's tail. Be careful of his claws!

Excellent question! Energy could be better spent asking France to save Haiti from itself.

Push the bear into a corner and be wary of the consequences. As for invading sovereign nations, there is one particular nation that has proven to be a past master at that game. You whistle and I'll point!

Exactly what the former administration had planned in the event that they were returned to office last September. We were warned that changes were in the pipeline. No government wants high unemployment and since talk of the stresses resulting from unchecked population increase apparently is "tabu", the solution is to impose taxes to maintain the facade of a prosperous economy. This solution works only for a limited time. The apparent higher standard of living in this country which has attracted many people from more crowded and unpleasant countries in many parts of the world, was maintained for many years on borrowed money that has to be repaid with interest. That is the reality that we have to face. Politicians are unwilling to address the deeper, underlying issues out of fear of a backlash at the polls.

It will be over soon. Plenty of money being made. Lots of politicians enjoying undreampt of authority. Lots of people resisting. Soon there will be something else to use to distract the general public.

Wake up and smell the coffee. This is just post election talk. The money is not available to carry out all these projects. That is the simple reality. I wonder how any government will be able to move forward without facing the harsh reality that some big adjustments in the finances of the country are long overdue. Of course, I am aware that it will be difficult for any politician to sugar coat the bitter pill of reality.

Let France take full responsibility for their former colony. France is almost one third African and Arab. Let them occupy the country while they teach basic birth control and go about repairing essential infrastructure. The Dominican Republic has a long and very turbulent relationship with Haiti which controlled them from 1822 until 1844. Read about Rafael Trujillo and the "parsley war" on the border between the two countries.

Yes, they need help but in their own country under the care of their own government. They need some serious education on birth control as well as education in general. The Bahamas has had a problem with illegal immigration since the late 1940s. Now that the numbers are alarming, people are taking notice. There was a time when politicians spoke about the dangers of uncontrolled population growth. Books were written on the topic. Not any more.

Sounds like the Tropic Tide ran into the HMBS Lawrence Major while she was unable to avoid a collision. Can't blame the RBDF this time. It's a terrible feeling to be just sitting there waiting for the impact and unable to avoid the inevitable collision. I can recall being aboard an anchored ship in the Mississippi river just offshore Kenner, Louisiana, back in March of 1975. In fog, on anchor watch, making the sound signal of five seconds of bell at the bow every two minutes. Certainly no fun.
