O ye of little faith! Do you imagine that the politicians ever intended to follow their own rules? How sad if you did. Just last week in London the police caught the Prime Minister Boris Johnson riding his bicycle for exercise about 6 miles away from his residence. Against all the rules.

What did John Pinder do to you? The man is speaking the truth and seems to be using realistic and believable figures in his statements. While it may be true that the only pinch Mr. Pinder might be feeling at present is around his waist, it is equally true that salary cuts and staff reductions are to be reasonably expected after the upcoming general election. With all the uncertainty around us it is wise to be prepared for some serious economic problems in the not too distant future.

Extended until the election in June this year. But not to worry, whichever party wins the election the pain starts soon thereafter. Salary cuts, staff reductions and increased taxes can reasonably be expected in the not too distant future. No government in its right mind will speak of such things before winning a renewed mandate to make the rules. A word to the wise is sufficient.

Another letter to forward to the Minister for Tourism. Will he consider the points being made in this and numerous other letters of similar content? That remains to be seen.

And what precisely had led up to this situation? Wages too low, cost of living too high and eye too big! Very few of our people abide by the old adage, "Use up, wear out, make do or do without." Easy credit and a lack of understanding of compound interest hasn't helped anyone but the lenders.

There is a limit to accepting illegal immigrants. Even liberal Spain is starting to return illegal migrants to West Africa from the Canary Islands where they are occupying hotel rooms. Countries where there is unlimited population growth can only become a burden to their neighbours. France is loaded with illegal and legal immigrants, as is Italy. This cannot end well. Instead of the US invading Haiti and developing the country it has been left to fester. Yet, almost every day the missionary flights pass through Bahamian airspace on their way to Port de Paix or Cap Haitien with supplies. Downtown Madrid one sees huge banners on the tall buildings "Refugees Welcome" but the mass of the people have no idea what will happen when the number of immigrants grows to a critical mass.

The fallout from all this pandemic is just now being measured and evaluated. Like the man said, you ain't seen nuttin yet! Those governments that lashed their populations into a panic are now looking for a way out of this quagmire but there is no easy way out.
