Yeah, they entrapped them to take the plane , too. Talk about peer pressure. The prime minister was fumbling with his words. Does not sound like an individual whom has command of the Queen’s English. He was shaky at best and not convincing at all .
Well, I thought that also…. Until I realized that their slogan was, the plp has its hand in the cookie jar. Well, that sounded good during the rallying, but did Hubert Ingraham do anything to take the plp’ hand out of the cookie jar? He only used that slogan for campaigning. We still had corruption on both sides. We still do not have a freedom of information act. We still do not know what the worst of the worst is so we can execute. There are no campaign finance laws. It was not done under Hubert and not under the past three leaders. No one is perfect.
Every country has to do what is deemed best for its own citizens. Everyone else must adjust. Not hard, just adjust. Be thankful that we got a discount all these years , but the question is, what did we do with the discount? Did we always think that the discount would never stop? Did we plan our spending like it would? If you are a parent , you will appreciate that you must save while the saving is good and be wise in your spending. I will be affected, but I understand what he is doing. Maybe Bahamians should settle to deal with internal national issues that we have been kicking down the road for decades, like the Haitian migration, whom is a citizen, marital rape etc. we are too scared to deal with the political fallout, no more, no less. Get Things Done!!!
Don I agree. Also, put a 25% VAT on cigars, beer ,and cigarettes. Drop VAT to5% on veggies, fruits and wheat products. Encourage Bahamians to eat healthfully. All of these vices cause the public increased medical cost due to high blood pressure, Diabetes and other debilitating diseases in their 40’s , and 50’s. I consume alcohol and would not mind the 25% VAT on beer.
First concert after being released from prison!!! Wow, that says it all. This was promoted by Aliv and Bahamas Air, both family oriented. It is sad to see people promote a singer singing about licking the Pom Pom, all night. Do we glorify this behavior? Is this acceptable? It is a sad indictment on our youth and the future of this country.
