White Bahamians are increasingly making plans to leave the country, they no longer believe that our political leadership can solve the economic crisis or that the law enforcement agencies ccan protect them and their children from these damaged human beings who roam our streets murdering people inclusive of 18 month old toddlers. I read that Perry Christie, the leader of the corrupt former PLP government, has already relocated some of his family abroad. Will the country be better off without these white folks? We will see soon enough when their businesses start to close up shop.
I wonder how Mrs. Martin-Hanna is positioned with regards to the caricom movement to sue the British for reparations for slavery. As the daughter of an Afro-Bahamian, should she receive some of the money or on the other hand as the daughter of a mother born a British national, should she be paying into the fund?
The largest Ponzi scheme in the country is called NIB. Good luck getting your pension if you are 40 years old or younger. Years of malfeasance by the government appointed managers has resulted in really stupid investments of our money into entities such as BOB and BA.. These so-called investments will never be recouped or provide any profit. This will result in a shortfall of the money necessary to pay pensions in the future. NIB is also greatly overstaffed with workers appointed for political reasons. The payroll for these staff sucks up most of the money contributed by working Bahamians. NIB is a good thing in developed countries however in a country with systemic corruption like the Bahamas it is a disaster.
Lao Tops in schools? Great idea and I like the limited roll-out so it's effectiveness can be assessed. The Ministry of Education should also consider a much longer academic year to bring us in line with academically successful countries such as Japan. No more twelve week summer recesses.
Mr. Bowe is being a little silly. Does he actually know the definition of pandemonium? And what well run privately owned business would want to hire someone who had been working for the government? People who have worked for government are quite likely to have developed slack working habits and an over-developed sense of entitlement. It is also as likely as not that they were hired for their political allegiance rather than on merit. To hire an ex-government worker is to add a bad apple into your workplace barrel of good apples.
Can we remove that statue at the airport that represents corruption and the sale of the country to drug smugglers? Pindling was a total crook who was glorified by many ignorant people, some of whom saw fit to imitate his example and are now being tried in the courts.
