what an insult to the british to appoint such a person to such an important post. look to his record of statements such as promising to close web shops within two weeks. i do not like or respect people who lie to me.
was not bthis building one of the first large projects carried out by the first plp government under prime minister pindling who was later found to have more money than he earned inhis bank accounts by bishop gomez in his minority report in the 1984 commission of inquiry into corruption in this country? was the building shoddily constructed because of the added cost of giving kick-backs to corrupt politicians? who was the minister of works at that time? was it clarence bain? was he not taken before the courts charged with some offence concerning pvc pipes? it seems that allegations of corruption by plp ministers are nothing new.
as a member of rotary for over 25 years, I was sickened when one of the Nassau clubs awarded the then prime minister Christie with a paul harris fellowship. this is awarded to those who have given exceptional service of some kind Christie only gave to his family, then his friends, and then his supporters. his role as the worst prime minister in the commonwealth's history was not service but a well paid job with lots of perks and a bloated pension at the end, it was nom t service. so we now have a senior rotarian sitting in the corner office at NIB. I can not but help wondering if there is a connection but I hope not. On the other hand the addition of the right honourable Hubert Ingraham as an honoury member of the South East Rotary club is to be applauded.
the increases in taxes on banks by the PLP government have made it uneconomic to operate this small branch. We should expect more of the same. The more taxes and regulations in an economy, the less economic activity. This is why the FNM's drive to empower new entrepreneurs is bound to fail. The country does not have an economic climate such that small businesses can thrive.
where would this country be? well let me think about this for a moment. how about we would be without ten thousand murderous unemployable products of single parent homes roaming our streets looking for someone to rob, rape or steal from.
