The reason that Prime Minister Crisco-Butt is not taking sides, is that he has been loaned money by the Chinese, and he has been to China and forged some sort of deals that involves mortgaging our patrimony to assuage the voracious spending of his government.

So he is caught between a rock and a hard place, and when push comes to shove, he wants to keep the money taps open from the Chinese to the government and doesn't give a damn if he burns the Izmirlians and the tourist industry.

We already know what he thinks of the Izmirlians when he spatted with them about money owed.

Christie -- umm I mean Crisco-Butt already is on the side of the Chinese, so that slimey Attorney General Allyson Mayonnaise Gibson is trying to see if the bankruptcy can be moved to the Bahamas so that it can be influenced by the government in favour of their friends and cronies.

That is the reality that we live in. The Prime Minister sucks on a Chinese teat so he will not do what is in the best interests of the Bahamas.

In a perfect world, there will come a day when they would pay for their sins against the country in the same way that Myles Munroe was paid back by karma for fleecing the flock. It would be nice to see Christie and his cabinet as guests of Fox Hill.

I'm betting that this was the opening gambit in trying to take over the property.

Over two thousand people thrown out of work in higher paying service jobs will definitely have an economic impact. That is two-thirds of the equivalent amount of annual amount of school-leavers thrown into the (un)employment market.

As previously iterated, it was a brilliant move by the Izmirlians. Whether it will be ultimately successful, remains to be seen.

The American journalist who posted here a couple of times, was spot on the money. He predicted all of this. His other chilling prediction is that Baha Mar will never be finished and will turn into the empty building shells that the hotel and casino in Grand Bahama have become. The only use that those buildings, owned by Genting I believe, are for the suicides who throw themselves off the roof.

The estimate of $80 million to complete is a laugh. I was talking to a consultant who came specifically to inspect the property (he wouldn't tell me who employed him) estimates about another $400 million or more to complete. And from what he has seen, all buildings need remedial work to become useful.

He also brought up the conundrum of the chicken and the egg airlift syndrome. Currently there is not enough airlift to sustain Baha Mar. There aren't just enough seats on current flights support it. The only way that the airlines will add airlift, is if there is a demand, and the demand can't be demonstrated until you can get those sufficient numbers on the current airlift, which is impossible. So even half-filling each hotel is currently not possible even if it were open.

The consultant pointed out that there is still ample spare room inventory in the Bahamas without Baha Mar opening. So in essence, his thought is that Baha Mar is doomed because if it were open, if it were built to exacting standards, if it were able to offer a tourism product to the public, other factors would preclude it from succeeding.

Baha Mar was said to be too big to fail. Unfortunately, that is the reason why it will fail. It's size cannot be economically sustained, even in a perfect confluence of all of the factors necessary to the success of a project like this.

This is the bellwether that marks the final decline of tourism in the Bahamas as a viable first pillar of the economy.

Get yer spectacles on. That wasn't me who brought up Karl Marx, it was Bahamianpride. Me, I was the one who brought up non-Christian religions like obeah and witch doctors and such. As a matter of fact, the one religion that does appeal to me is Buddhism, where no one has to get nailed to the cross to save me, and my enlightenment is my own responsibility, and hell is not being enlightened.

The trouble with Buddhism is that they have a god with an elephant trunk that looks like it is snorting golf balls and I can't buy that. I also believe that a holy cow is the most holiest when a cooked piece of it is on my plate with gravy and mash potatoes.

I am also not a communist, unionist or a socialist. The big problem with all of them, is that they consider a worker equal to another worker, all units and all interchangeable. It is an insult to humanity, because the non-slackers are more valuable to an employer than a bunch of slackers.

It's a brilliant move to take the Chinese out of the equation for repossession. By putting in bankruptcy in Delaware, he has take any weapon out of the Chinese hands to take it over. They will become at once creditors like the rest of them, without taking possession of the Izmirlian equity in lieu of payment. Smart move. I bet that the Chinese didn't see that one coming. This pretty much subjugates any reasons for claims on the property itself.
