Yeah but for how long? This will only be fresh on the minds until the next scandal rolls around (and it will) and then this mess will be on the backburner. How many things have gone on in this government and after a couple days , it blows over, never to be heard of again. shame, shame.

Or the next free party or ham and turkey will assuage the voters ang bring them back to PLP

Well said, my friend. Your statements put everything in perspective- something Fred Mitchell is clearly incapable of doing. These ministers "aren't at liberty to say" jack, until it comes to jumping on plane and eating food at parties- then they have plenty to say about how they belong.

Instead of all this flip-flopping , it WOULD have made sense for an official to come forward with a public statement as you described. But you can't trust this government to be straightforward and transparent. They like keeping the public in the dark so they can go forth and continue the crookedness behind closed doors.

First of all, I can't believe this is being considered "new" research or information. I would say it's been public knowledge for quite some time that violence begets violence and that domestic violence in particular is often, sadly, passed on from generation to generation as a means of conflict resolution.

We have all seen it on the streets, in stores, and virtually everywhere...A parent or sibling beating the crap out of a toddler and the child is totally unaware as to what they are being beaten for. Verbal abuse is just as damaging whether it be between parent and child or spouses / boyfriend/girlfriend.

I was hit as a child and growing up as I'm sure a lot of kids were, but I always knew what I was being scolded for. Even now though, I can't say if I have any kids I would want to go that route . Nevertheless, the LACK of conflict resolution skills and anger management skills are a huge problem in this country. What is worse is how much of a norm domestic violence has become. A young girl/man having been abused, sexually, verbally or physically will often lead to her thinking this is normal and acceptable behavior unless he or she has help and intervention from someone else. Often times this does not happen and the cycle repeats itself. This sort of behavior is not limited to race, religion, economic background etc...All the more reason why we need to admit this problem to ourselves as a country and try our best to redirect and rebuild our youth.

Cash was supporting it.

And yes, the PLP did oppose this a few years back. Craziness.
We want our people to stay dumb and dangerous.

I did not know that police were some of the owners of these plates; that's interesting.

Taxi drivers do the same thing, driving recklessly just to beat out the next guy on the fare. I've had to pull over on the side of West Bay St . to avoid being hit by a taxi evidently trying to get back to the airport in order to get the next bunch of tourists. A lot of times they have passengers in these vehicles, yet they drive like they're on a race track with no regulations.

It's crazy. As I have said before and will keep saying, unless we weed out the corruption from the top down, put our efforts into education and family planning , sound morals etc, we will never turn this country around. it wont happen overnight ! But we must start somewhere.....thas my 5 cents

exactly- one of the main reasons why commentators like bahamasrider will not get far. Pure ignorance, xenophobic, hates anyone different or of different religion, culture, mindset etc. Can I say that for all bahamians? NO because that would be judgemental and generalizing.....but for a lot of people in this town, that's the first place we go. first of all, the man is swiss, not french. And to make such a sweeping statement like that- well I'm quite sure you wouldn't like someone to make a judgement on you in the same way.
