Absolutely true for many businesses. Just watchh the secret folding of the note in the palm of the hand in half then in quarter and the passing of the note to the recipient, then there are the notes in the emvelope passed over, why there are the stories of even bankers who accept tips and of course the much complained about 4000 plis mortgage customers all defaulted crippling mortgage business tying up billion dollar loans liquidity and provisioning, AND bonuses salary increments holiday paid for trips given out to bankers for selling the most mortgages and no banker or process examined and deemed to be guilty and negligent over zealous BUT yet most bsnks chamged their own designed application process.....failure of the authorities to protect the consumers.....especially the poor, ripped off, no money to hire lawyer, no llawyer wants to challenge battery of best paid bank lawyers and if in the unlikelyiest remotest chance of winning ..court case drawn out....walking all over trrying to fond parking putting in papers forms all over govt offices...lawyers all knowing each other.....peanuts for settlement.!!! The sad fact is even govt took 20 millon fron public taxpayer money to do a mortgage relief program without even examining the banks application process and of course the progtam failed and then aftrtwards the banks changed their forms.....if you change your form it means something was not right....
All of this corruption seems to have increased from the days in the not too disyant past where you could leave your doors open.....shook your bankers hand and ot was a law binding contract....and the rise in bankers now being charged with crimes .....and of course the phenomenal rise in the building of Churches....and appointments of many to so many religeous titles .....and the church so silent on many topics and so accepting to the point that corruption and social ills must be normal....

While the govt says 45,000 Bahamians live below the poverty level there are thousands more who live marginal existances..on the line...declining or no middle class ...even many who live in fancy homes that have empty fridge or no electricity etcetc It is a part of the job for govt to have realized this and jumped in the hurricane disaster relief to assist many left crippled after 24 hours of fierce storm with home flooded, roof layers good amd old r,ipped off. Over the decades it seems more taxes have been laid on the backs of all Bahsmians with the poor and neediest feeling it most and even the govt of all people dont have money to fix tings and even Attorney Genrral pointed out gap between rich and poor increasing. Even Doc Sands pointed out figures that it takes for people to survive...qualifed people heading overseas more nurses needed...tings ruff
As an advocate for pore struggling disadvantaged Bahamians the powers that be have for many decades ignored the plight of we and steadfast refused to setup agemcies to protect us, the neediest and least protected, many only knowong is 2 weeks before elections and then nomore for 5 years less 2 weeks. There is noone to complain to, noone to report to, no consumer protections, no ombudsman and after being screwed bu corript officials, agencies, bank, politicians, etcetc....finally grateful to Roc wid Doc , Transparency International, Ms Wallace and the Tribune for publicixing these findings on corruption. Not too long ago all concerned with publicizing this would have come in for absolute condemnation, and the foulest of language fpr daring to reveal corruption.
Simple - mate the education of these riverboat pilots to mark twain so that they will not run aground. (tie a weight on yer line and drop in in water and use the 12 foot mark to gauge if your boat can go through there ) lol
Terms of the sale need to be published etc. Why the secrecy??
While getting away from a building plagued with air conditioning challenges etc.....dont the officials know that there may be even more problems for the workers being close to the garbage dump site when it catches fire.???
