Anyone who can't recognize that the virus is already amongst us is in complete denial. We went from two weeks to flatten the curve to destroying our economy with several months of lockdown to forced reopening due to economic desperation. To still be pretending that all of this foolishness is going to change the outcome is completely bananas.

There is growing evidence that early man used naturally occurring psychoactive plants for spiritual purposes for tens of thousands of years. Christians began a war on those 'drugs' around 500AD. 1500 years later and our complete disconnect from nature is causing us to overexploit the planet and literally consume ourselves to death. Whilst the church has us judging our neighbor's sanctimony and throwing people in jail for smoking weed, multinational 'Christian' corporations commit wholesale crimes against humanity on an industrial scale. And the CEO of Purdue gets a slap on the wrist for being an accessory to 400,000 opioid deaths in the USA........somehow I don't think the commissioner chasing young men around for smoking joints is going to 'save' anyone....

America has a law called the Foreign Corrupt Practices act which stops American companies from paying kickbacks to foreigners......is exactly why our crooked politicians do not use American companies

The Bahamian Government needs to stop trying to impress these OECD clowns along with the FATF and other 'globalist' agendas. The UK is leaving the EU and there is a very good chance the US is going to decouple from the new world order. If and when that happens, the Bahamas needs to align itself with the US and UK and screw up all of the other tax exchange treaties and tell the OECD to take a hike. As observer2 says re. Cayman. These UN organizations aren't out to be fair. They are screwing all the small countries for their own benefit by behaving like bullies but without the US and UK standing behind them, the bullies lose their power.

Perhaps it would be better if the commissioner would get on board with reality and talk about how helpful it is going to be for the wider population - by NOT having to waste the police force's scant resources trying to incarcerate young men for possessing pathetic amounts of pot ?

Because of 'globalization', your average domestic farmers are now competing with vast commercial interests that have capitalized, mechanized, fertilized, chemicalized, subsidized and technicalized farming to a point that is unrecognizable to us. Handing Johny a few acres of free crown land and a plow and hoping he can make a difference to our food security is such a naive notion that it is embarrassing. If the government seriously wants to increase our food security they are going to have to open the doors to foreign capital, foreign experts and specialists and tie the industry into a seamless trade network that provides all the inputs at competitive prices and gets all the outputs to market efficiently. If a sweet pepper that is grown in the desert in Israel can be shipped and sold here in the Bahamas, it makes sense that we should be able to do better but it would require a complete revamp of the way that the government runs the country. There would need to be a guarantee that a budding agricultural sector is not buried in red tape, cut off at the knees by corruption and economic ineficiencies and strangled by volumes of (small) scale. Standing over Johny and demanding he grows more corn on the crown land just ain't going to cut it.

I personally know people who owe the mortgage corp huge amounts of money for failed construction projects and woefully upside down property values - yet they are still going around town buying more real estate. I guess when they have finished the audits they will get around to foreclosing on some of these Politically Connected Folks

Wouldnt it be nice if these clowns actually shared their ideas with the public rather than having this bizarre conversation about whether their (secret) ideas can work or not ? If the people in this country do not stand up and demand to be treated like grown-ups, we seriously are doomed for a long slow painful descent into the third world.

The fact remains that the WHO's primary roll is to STOP the spread of a pandemic from the source. Instead, in the case of the Wuhan Flu, the WHO worked in concert with the CCP to make sure that the virus got to all points of the planet within 30 days. Since then it has been nothing but a giant scam to ruin our (the worlds) economy so that the totalitarian communists can step in afterwards, bail us out and own us. Papa Doc's aquezance to the plan can only mean that he has been assured a lifetime dictatorship with unlimited power and wealth in return for throwing us all under the bus. If you think this doesn't make any sense, please try explain to me what else is really going on now ? The only other option is that none of these clowns have a frickin clue what is going on and they have devastated our economy and people are still sick and dying...... so why are they still in charge ??
