In March we all allowed Papa Doc to give himself unbridled power over every decision being made on behalf of all Bahamians personal health - and he decided that everyone in the entire country should stay in their homes for two weeks to flatten the curve. You know.....so that nobody got sick, nobody (at all) died and we saved our tourism sector (and wider economy) in the long run.
Let's see now.... October.... I think its October....after eight months of random, flip flop lockdowns, curfews and mandates, untold long-term damage done to the economy, people dying every day and several hundred more testing positive every week, a billion dollars in new government debt that your children's children will still be paying off, the tourism industry in tatters. Nobody now knows if quarantine is protecting us from them or them from us. Our health industry in worse shape to deal with a pandemic now than it was at the beginning but "they", some invisible health experts, are quite sure that everything is going to be just fine on 1st November
Your argument is circular. The lockdowns have ruined our tourism but your excuse for further lockdowns is a lack of tourism? I would also like to know what comprehensive, historically proven, scientific evidence that you are drawing from that would suggest that a two-week total lockdown will do anything to save lives in the long run ? Therte is plenty of scientific data out there now that suggests that if we do nothing at all, the outcome will remain the same ....
Why would you blame your brothers and sisters for catching an airborne pathogen? Power-hungry politicians all over the world have spent this whole year trying to invent the new wheel. They have locked us down. They have bullied us into inhumane behaviors. They have ruined our livelihoods. They have "invented" new rules every day and fined people for not observing them. And yet the virus has spread and reemerged and spread again and what ever any of these foolish new protocols that these people try invent - They want you to blame your brothers and sisters when they don't work ! And you believe their statistics....well I gotz a brand new coat of many colors to sell to you my brother

In the meantime, Papa Doc is turning droves of tourists away by flip-flopping on international travel, smothering curfews and lockdowns, overzealous quarantines, and daily rule changes, all to try keep the virus out ?!? Our country going broke and no one knows if a tourist going to give us covid or whether we going to give the tourist covid

I agree with a lot of what you have to say Trib but it makes me sick when you have to bring up the race card. Xenophobia has excluded white ideas and influence from this countries politics for 50 years. Minnis hates white people and doesn't listen to anyone (white or black) so how is it white people's fault that Papa Lock Dock wants us (human beings) to report our neighbor for breaking curfew ??
this is all a giant gaslight into handing control of our sovereignty, opening up our borders, and demoralizing us all into a bunch of subservient drones.
