You are soooo right. If you are truly a christian nation some of these comments would not be made. We do not have to agree but we should not make judgement. Only God can do that. Everyone is human and should be treated with respect and not be discriminated against because of their beliefs.

Emac...I agree. Everyone has a right to his/her own preference. No one should be discriminated against because of their beliefs. We don't have to like it but we must accept what is not ours to judge. God is the only one to make judgement.

As if you don't know already Bahamas, you really need to do a better job with the monitoring system. Those wearing the bracelet are supposed to report to officials at specific times during the day/week and be in their home at a certain time and not roaming the street at night. So many of these new crimes and murders are being done by those supposedly being monitored. Those being murdered have been known to be wearing bracelets. The reason they are out doing whatever, is because they know they can get away with it. It is a joke to them. Until you fix the system you will always be bothered with these incidents of crime by ankle bracelet so called "monitored" wearers!!

I share the same thoughts as most of the comments above.....how does one accused of several murders become a good guy? Only words a mother would say. Sorry for your loss but it is what it is.

Agree with you but when was the last time you heard of many Cubans losing their life because of overcrowding or boat capsizing trying to get to the US illegally?

Keep speaking out on the LGBT issue, Mr. Mitchell. People have a right to live the life they believe is for them. We as a people do not have to agree with it but we must respect the choices they make. They must not be abused and disrespected or made to feel uncomfortable regardless of anything.

Cuba happens to be a communist country, therefore, those reaching the US are given amnesty when approved. Travel advisories are put out to let Americans know what's going on in the Bahamas or other countries. They do not have to protect your borders. It is the Bahamas primary job to protect its own. The smuggling of Haitians and others in an overloaded boat and forcing them to jump into the water should not be condoned and those responsible should be arrested and go to trial. Too many lives have been lost. It has happened too many times.

I agree B_ I_D__. Education is the main element needed in order to progress anywhere you go. If someone cannot read or write and spell, or even speak correct English how can they excel in a business world. Listen to some of the government employees, even the PM, news anchors, ZNS especially, clergy and others who are in the public eye where public speaking is a must. They stumble over their words, mispronounce and use "UMM" quite frequently. A good speaker knows exactly how to speak fluently. I could name a few and I'm sure you could also. Check out the newspapers where one can find numerous errors because no one bothers to proofread and therefore, makes the editors and reporters look unintelligent.
