Sorry Sir,but it looks to me that PC and Co played the business community for a fool. all you had to do is look at the history of our politicians, especially the PLP ones and you could see that not only they are incompetent to run the country's finances, but they also don't care. Yet,you were along with them preaching about the benefits of VAT. Now if you really believe that PC and Co have any real interest in making things easier for small businesses you will be disappointed. In the end they will blame the "greedy businessmen" just as now they blame the "greedy doctors". It's all about getting more taxes and manipulating the ignorants
lol, not to worry, investors will flee when they will realize they are dealing with third world type politicians who can't even manage a small economy, with xenophobic and racist ministers, not to mention under the table deals
When the government put the new regulations (few months back I believe),very few people noticed and even less people complained. Now the small business owners will run around town looking for an accountant who will probably charge them astronomical fees. And you can forget reducing business licence fees as it was promised. After all VAT has passed already. Thank Perry and Michael when you see them
Come on fellows things are not that bad. After all we have thousands of kids coming out of school in the next few months with no prospects of employment, less money in our pockets because of VAT,more number houses for depositing your money, and NHI coming soon so we can receive first class medical treatment through our upgraded health system. All thanks to the man of the year and his "golden Knights". Enjoy it. Merry Christmas everyone
Is this a stupidity competition? I mean every single day after the Baha Mar Fiasco, someone from the governing party will get up and say something really dumb. Outsiders who are watching the Baha Mar saga, must have come to the conclusion that the people living in these islands must be the dumbest on earth. For the love of God, stop talking.
I don't know if Dr.Rollins have been a good MP for his area. What I find interesting is that now that he left the PLP all of a sudden he is not a good MP. I suppose if he was bowing to the wishes of the "old guard" he would have been a great representative. And by the way what do they mean by good representation? The one that Centerville and Bain Town gets?
Baha Mar employees may not get paid. Even if the project finishes, and I really hope it will,it may hire 5,000 people if successful. In the meantime 5,000-6,000 kids are coming out of school each year, most of them poorly educated, thanks to our politicians. The government has increased taxes through VAT and makes it more difficult for small businesses to survive through taxes and regulations. And PC is talking about the success of Carnival, BAMSI and VAT.
PC obviously does not care if small/medium size businesses can afford thousands of dollars in accounting fees. Is not a problem for large businesses but for the small ones it would double the cost of renewing their licences. Also with VAT in place it would be much more difficult to underdeclare. But unfortunately this is not in the books of Perryconomics.
As I said don't be shy name everyone despite their political affiliation. I don't care which party they belong to. Just say who got loans and never paid them back
