The majority of the Bahamian people have already sacrifised 6 months of their lives. Many have been without income for 6 months while politicians and civil servants keep collecting their salaries, many of them "working from home". You have already proved that the only thing you can do is ordering lockdowns and travel restrictions. Do you really think that 3 more weeks will have any effect? Judging from your actions and from the notorious "efficiency" of the Bahamian civil service you can call for emergency powers for the next 10 years and you still will not be able to get it right
Exactly, not long ago he was all about no visitors to Exuma because they might bring Covid19 there. Now,that the economic effects of lockdowns and travel restrictions are becoming more and more obvious he is talking about "balancing". Be carefull what you wish for.
I thought inter island travel required negative Covid test and mandatory quarantine for 14 days. Just wondering were the health protocols were followed at this case?
Exactly the problem. Just because they are unwilling or unable to enforce the law, they enforce total lockdowns. Also these last minute announcements really do not help, since they create anxiety and panic. These doctors, politicians and civil servants know that no matter what they will get their paycheck. What happens to those employees, employers and all the others that have to wait for the last minute announcement to see if they can work tomorrow
Good , now allow people to make an honest living before money runs out. Covid 19 is not going anywhere for a while,,and continuous lockdowns won't do the trick. A sensible plan with serious enforcement may be a better idea
There were reports of outdoor parties and social gatherings during the last 2 weeks. Yet, why the police did not do anything about it,if those reports are true. If they complain about people that don't listen, then do something about it at that time. Instead, they lockdown the whole island without warning..So what they basically do is punish everyone else, except themselves of course, for their mistakes.
That is why you have law enforcement don't you. A doctor on the radio was saying that many people were having parties, yet nobody explained how come the police did not show up. So what is the police's job? Taking food to the "inmates" 2 plates at a time? NIB lines were stretching last week. Why protocols were not enforced. So just because you can not enforce the law,you punish everyone.
This is insane There are people with babies, disabled persons, sick persons in their families. How do you expect them to live without food, water and medicine? Accept responsibilities for your mistakes, and stop this madness. As soon as essential stores are open people will rush and form long lines again, and the cases will rise. You can not even rely on your data because you can not even get the results on time. Do you think everyone has money to stock up in supplies for 1 or 2 weeks? Where do you live? Lockdowns will get the numbers down only temporarily because you have no idea how to deal with the situation

They have even admitted they have a serious backlog. Yet they make decisions affecting everyone's life. Are these people for real?
