This is how to obtain a knighthood from the Queen in this country; just construct a subdivision without regard to the height above see level, sell it to you cronies in government so they can give the homes to their supporters and presto you get your knighthood.
I much suspect that you may be correct, DWW, with your assertion that everyone will eventually contract the novel corona virus however the point of the lockdowns, mask wearing, and social distancing, is not to prevent everyone from becoming infected but rather to prevent everyone becoming infected at the same time. /if this happens then the medical resources available to treat the worst cases will not be adequate. This will result in unnecessary deaths. This is the theory as I understand it, time will tell if it is true.
my cents worth. I have worked in the nursing profession in a junior capacity many years ago. Nurses can be the most wonderful caring people in the world. In most countries the profession is underpaid. he National Health Service in the UK has determined a year or so ago that 5 shifts of 8 hours per shift resulted in better patient care than 4 shifts of 10 hours per shift. Less medical mistakes were made. The PHA is right on this one, the Union Leader is wrong. Political ambitions at work perhaps?
Great editorial. Thank you Editor for having the integrity to publish what will obviously be an unpopular t truth. I will happily report any selfish covid 19 spreading groups who consider themselves too special to obey the law.
Mr. Evans appears to be a member of the far right Christian movement and his letters should be read with a great deal of discrimination. Bigotry is ugly in whatever form it takes.
use of marijuana has killed no one, ever. use of alcohol has killed untold multitudes and inflicted untold abuse on victims of abuse. refined sugar intake has caused untold misery to hundreds of thousands of diabetics and morbidly obese people. Let's get our priorities straight . Legalize marijuana and save lives. ignore the rants of the uninformed.
What is also unfair is that the churches do not pay the same taxes as regular businesses. They operate as a business, have a business location, a bank account, and salaried employees. Many of these churches are extremely profitable and yet they do not pay a business license fee. If the church has enough money to buy and operate a private aircraft for their CEO's then they can afford to pay their fair share of taxes, rendering unto Caesar.
Was not this man recently quoted in the local press threatening to take disciplinary action against any correctional officer who spoke to a reporter about the existence of the corona virus in the prison? i think i will leave this comment unfinished.
