I see posts declaring hoe hard Toby Smith has worked on this project and how much money he has spent. Frankly I do not believe it. How much money has he spent and on what has he spent it? Tying a flag onto the lighthouse, arranging a call on the governor general to get his face in the newspapers, and removing one small boat load of trash is not hard work. Mixing concrete in the sun is hard work, reporting to work at 4:30 am to hump trash cans all day is hard work. The money the cruise ship line has invested is serious long dollars, soo I ask again just what has Mr. Smith done that warrants him receiving a large parcel of some of the most valuable real estate in the Bahamas?
I am only here to read the comments for the entertainment value.. Thank you to the Almighty that we have so many well informed experts on this page. I wonder why none of them have a working job? All that talent going to waste...…..
TThis person is as good an art critic as she was a member of the legal profession. Her pronouncements should be treated with the same degree of credibility that ,most rational people treated the promises of the administration of which she was part.
Who remembers PLP wannabe cabinet minister Paul Adderley vowing that the plp, if elected, would cancel the sale to Sun International of the resort on Paradise Island. Let us hope that Bahamian electorate treat Perry with the same distaste that they did Paul.
I wonder if Mr. Smith has the financial resources to develop the land. The cruise ship line has reportedly spent $150 million so far and they have not even built anything or hired anyone yet. Is this theBahamian Entitlement mentality at play yet again?
Why would the hon. Henfield not simply show the press his cancelled checks that repaid his loan? That would seem the simplest course of action because not everyone else is satisfied with his recollection of 2004, whatever that was anyway. Can someone please organise a march to demand that we see his paperwork. What could we call it? How about; "We March" for a name? Catchy, eh?
if the force is a disgrace now with a few good officers then it will soon be even more so to the tune of another 500. Any provision going to be made for the 30 to 40 years of retirement pay that the government will have to pay them.
