I can warn you, precedent in my own country. When politicians start talking about the poor this, the poor that. It's a bad sign. Its the start of pandering and divide and conquer. You will quickly find the poor are not those lacking in dollars, but those colonised with the mindset that, because of, " di foriner, di white man, di big man, slavery, dose damn ashyans, di boast yardys", they are disenfranchised and held back?
Issues like taking advantage of school, training, avoiding sex as sport and breeding children they can't afford will not be highlighted. "Cause we a poor people and boyyyy dii Govanment must two care a we"..
My gosh. What if you were a Haitian per adventure with expired license that could not be renewed because of expired work permit?
Does this joker not know and acknowledge that even though we are who we are, documents are renewed because they are useless if they are not?
Then there is the issue of security features. For travel there should be electronic verification. Just another useless oga bossman who wants to boss the small man around.
There you go. Economic growth by xenophobia. I don't know which economy can be stimulated by borrowing money to give bonuses to Public sector workers.
I can't speak for Haitians. I do know over the years its the Bahamas who sends recruiters to Jamaica. to recruit. Drs' Nurses. Teachers. construction workers, maids and what not. Whose fault is that. As for Motorcars, owning a car is not an achievement, it is a means to get from point A to Point B.
As for homes... well we will not go there. However if you think the economic problems of a nation that needs to grow can be solved by having less people or skilled people for that matter. Get your head checked.
Well whatever,I I feel about the way the immigration laws are applied, it's your country. I will say one thing! I disagree with what we in Jamaica call capturing, or any formalization of land grabbing. Doesn't matter if it is 5 years or 99 years. If you study major crime and criminal mindset in the Caribbean,, there are 2 constant components. Ilegal settlements, and Government allocated lands and housing.
@Sickened, but your nationality is not dependent on what fraudsters, tricksters or scammers do. If you are Bahamian, be proud, "No shakin' as Nigerians say. No one can take it away. When you emphasize, with "Real", it gives off doubt, fear etc.
Just wave the flag high. and remember, its better in the Bahamas.
Ok, thanks. Which is why i said, "semi". Semi, because he most likely has a claim to another place, but.... Will you agree that it would be in your best interest to support a Smith./ Would you agree there is a certain arbitrariness with your son waiting for 6 plus years?
By now it should have been yes or no. And my dear Sah, would you also agree that based on events and how they have unfolded for others, he can be arbitrarily picked up, locked up, denied advocacy and deported to God, knows where on the next deportation flight?

You would understand the issue of going to prison is one of confinement as opposed to physical discomfort?
Will you also understand that if a place is nasty and unkempt it means someone is not doing their job?
Most important when someone dies it's not the time to pontificate over foolishness.

Same issue throughout the Caribbean. No instant document recognition except at the airports.
Scannable documents and Police with Document readers will.
1. Cut down on fake docs.
2. Hopefully, prevent avbuse of those who have proper documentation
