The PM can cook the books of BOB as much as he wants, but the bank will continue to fail unless the management team is replaced and some standards are adhered to within the company. All those people with deposits at BOB, I would suggest changing your bank forthwith!!!
Amazing this sorry excuse for a PM "is willing" to reveal the details of the BTC deal, but doesn't want to disclose the LOI that Renward Wells signed!!!!! I guess the difference is that he wasn't responsible for the former, but is responsible for the latter!!!
Sorry PM, nobody is impressed with your verbal diarrhea!! Shut up and do your damn job!!
PM Christie and his band of merry men need to hang their head in shame -- why is it that international organizations recognize the importance of preserving Bimini's environment and the government can only see their kickback every time a proposal for a project comes knocking at their door.
Shame on the PM!!! Shame on the PLP!!! Shame on Bahamians who are only interested in what they can "get" instead of looking out for future generations yet to come.
Save the Bays -- way to go!!! Keep up the good work!!!
Since the government was supposed to be actively selling this blood-sucking corporation, why would BEC buy new generators??? When one is selling a business, you don't upgrade the equipment just before the sale!!!
It is no secret that BEC is broke -- with successive governments' mismanagement and inefficiency, and those close to the government not paying their bills, what the heck did you expect??? The cookie jar is empty and scrapping at crumbs!!!
Sell the bloody thing so that some competent management can be restored so that average Bahamians don't have to pay a monthly mortgage payment to BEC and actually ENJOY their existence before they die!!!!
I guess when you have your hand in the cookie jar, it's difficult to explain to the people for fear of being exposed..... This whole matter stinks to high heaven, and I guess the PLP are hoping it will all go away.
I just find it strange that NOW the government is talking about borrowing money to convert COB into a university. Why NOW? I've been hearing the rhetoric about transforming COB into a university for over 21 + years. Why wasn't this done under previous presidents' tenures? Is this only a move to justify the outrageous salary demands of the new president?? Something about this stinks!!!
Mr. Mitchell would say that considering that's a well-known PLP tactic to bus people into rallies and other events to make it look like they have support.
This is sickening!!! That salary is outrageous for a rinky-dink institution like COB!!!! Put him on a salary that is half of that and if he manages to convert COB into an accredited university, then give him what he wants. This is a slap in the face to all the students and faculty at COB!!
