We were independent just long enough to become dependent again. Our new masters are not colonial but economic. Ask the EU how independent we are or China for that matter and they will all laugh. Sadly, once most Bahamians have money in their pockets to buy the pleasure of their choice and a full stomach, they couldn't care less!!
I think its only right that the PM, leader of the Opposition and Minister of Tourism should be at the airport without masks, to greet the first few flights to the Bahamas!
the best defense against crime is strong families. If we had fewer single parent homes with parents raising their children with moral values (basic understanding of right and wrong and showing respect for others and their property) we would need less police. We would have less crime.
People need to stop sleeping around like animals and making babies they can't afford and start to take advantage of opportunities to get a better education. If we don't, a select few will keep milking the system to the expense of the Bahamian taxpayer and nothing will ever really change. New Dodge Chargers and police on pension can't fight crime!!
When the first case of COVID was diagnosed they did not want to close the borders because of the economy. Now that the economy is virtually devastated they want to invite more COVID in to help the economy, but while making it worse because you will have to close it longer!
If Minnis made medical decisions like this then he could not have been a good doctor! I don't think it is normal to give a person more of what made them sick in order to make them better! He might make better decisions on this matter if he stops making political decisions, speak to some good doctors, actually take their advice and then make a medical decision! Both the citizens of the country and the economy might be better off for it!
... the only hope here is that people have been exposed, had no symptoms and have antibodies that may reduce the risk of them getting it again. Remember 80% of those infected have zero symptoms. Its those who followed the rules and stayed at home who may be at the highest risk during a second wave!

In the mind of Minnis this makes perfect sense.

Nothing some of these police would like more than to be able to walk up to ladies on the beach to make sure they complying with covid-19 rules!
Drones are a better way to surveil beaches and predominantly female officers should be on patrol to areas of concern highlighted by the drones!
