These islands must be careful about letting outsiders in, as they have no herd immunity to COVID-19 due to a lack of exposure. The scarcity of medical care could be detrimental if they start to have cases pop up!
... this forum allows for differences of opinion. You have yours and I mine. I believe that is still allowed in a democratic society! For those who are moved by words (as the simple often are) Sands did a wonderful job. For those who look at facts objectively its easy to come to another conclusion!
... based on your statement mankind (Chinese in particular) had at least 2 months experience with it and had dealt with several other novel pandemics over the past 25 years!
The government has been playing games since Dorian, spending money on everything but preparation for the next hurricane season that is upon us.
They spent $6 million on domes for Abaco, $5 million for CCTV cameras, $9 million for a bridge in Andros, $17 million on drones, not to mention the recent promotions of police and nothing for hurricane preparedness and there are still those who think Minnis has done a good job managing crises! Amazing how gullible Bahamians are!
It may be time for a non medical person (a businessman probably) to fill the Minister of Health position. Specialists in that position generally do not do a good job, and certainly have not in this current crisis and its really the Chief Medical Officer and staff that deals with the kind of medical situations we have at present anyway.
The PM should not attempt to fill this position since his incompetence has already been shown with the multiple gaffes he made issuing "emergency" orders!
... wow! As though only Americans can be carriers of this virus! Thank God the Brits, Canadians and other are all immune!
The more reasonable idea is large scale antibody testing here to reopen different sectors and only accepting allowing tourists who present proof of having antibodies showing they have cleared the infection to travel here. This reopens the economy somewhat, while we wait for a vaccine!

@ThisIsOurs... all Sands had to do was ask for the swabs to be sent by Fed Ex-- problem solved.
This flight was precleared before it left the USA, that is a major problem!
