… the EU and OECD have been dictating for more than a decade and we have been jumping through the hoops to please them, that's why they feel bold enough to make demands. Our leaders are idiots!! We need to do what is in our best interest now!
Based on the size of the Philippine population here, that may well represent what they received in remittances from the Bahamas last week, but thanks anyway!
The reality is the Bahamas people remember fondly where there were strong families and communities, low crime, where people respected each other was a Bahamas that practiced the values of which the author speaks. Departure from those values have created the social and moral cesspool of a dumbed down society in which we now live!
To answer that question, just look at all that money government spent on investing in new hurricane shelter infrastructure, disaster management training for police and defence force officers, implementing a national swimming program, creating an effective evacuation plan for the islands, purchasing new or used helicopters and temporary shelters with water filtration systems etc. since the last hurricane!
... any story that only presents one side of an issue, without even making a serious effort to confirm the truth of the statements, is always suspect in my mind. That is what you expect from a post on social media, NOT a 'reputable' newspaper.
