Congratulations on a pathetic excuse for an article. Of course women are persuasive, we saw it in the garden of Eden, a thing which totally happened for real. Remember when a woman got made from a rib bone? That was cool. I'm glad some women are taking time out of their witchcraft agenda to be gainfully employed. Another resounding success, Tribune!

Higher murder rate than NYC? We had one murder per 2,500 people in 2011. New York City had one per 16,000 people. Yeah, I'd say that's higher. I am afraid to do the maths for NASSAU versus NYC.

Conchs are in serious trouble. Ask anyone from an older generation. Research has proven that more recently discarded shells in Bahamian settlements have a developed lip (i.e. are legal) with less and less frequency. Fishermen choose to disregard the size limits and blame poachers. You need look no further than the roadside in Nassau to see that; yet even in plain sight nothing is done about it. Who is regulating the harvested conch that are sold frozen in blocks? Most are no bigger than my thumb. Please save this cultural icon before we end up like Florida.

Um, last I checked, numbers houses were thriving. We would be foolish not to profit from it! Don't you guys get tired of quoting from a book cobbled together by many writers, thousands of years ago? What has a guide to Iiving in the middle east 2000 years ago (when the height of technology was a horse and cart) to do with us, here, today? Why not prop up our appalling educational system with numbers house profits? Why not fund community centres with the money? People are going to spend the money whether we gain from it or not. Get with the programme, people. And stop abusing caps lock, it makes you look like a moron.
