The letter writer has to be going senile.

You want to tear down Pintard for not being a part of the new generation. Fine. Then you better tear down the Minnis you admire so much, as he is no wear near the younger generation. So why be gung ho for Minnis who should be retired?

On Pintard is not young generation

Last time i checked, isn't The Bahamas closer to the US? So why is the pricing being compared to Caribbean countries that have no relevance to proximity and relationships?

And rather that just print what they have been given in a report, where is the journalistic input to show that what is being stated is facts. We need journalists to please start challenging these statements from people and not just reporting what they say.

Why does the government use a US firm and ignore all the Bahamian firms, and all the architects at is own Ministry of works?

This is a slap in the face to all Bahamians. Our governments do not even believe in their own citizens who LIVE and WORK here.

A specialist hospital? Seriously? Maybe get PMH right and maybe provide serious medical care and facilities in islands outside of New Providence before the specialist hospital.

Absolutely agree with you.

The ministers comments are totally insane. It shows serious lack of intelligence and thought.

It is said it is best to keep your mouth closed and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt. The minister just endorsed that with his ridiculous comments.

moncurcool says...

You raise the point that many in the media should be questioning the minister about. When did this go out to tender? How is it that China Construction wins the tender? WHo else submitted a tender?

We need serious journalists in this country who will ask the touch questions, and not just report the tribble from the mouths of these politicians.

What is so pathetic, is that major retailers in the country don not have prices listed visibly and you never hear about them in court, and this happens in a regular basis.

And even when they have prices listed, you get o the counter and discover that the price listed is different than the price that rings up at the register.

Price control really does not do their job.

Did they ever consider that what they offer on cable with all these Spanish channels is garbage to pay for?

I dropped Cable TV years ago and don''t miss it in the least.

If the government had sense, they would just talk to the GBPA about how the GBPC was able to make electricity stable in Grand Bahama. Or maybe that is why they are trying to shake down the GBPA to get at the GBPC?

This government does not care about transparency and accountability.

When a cabinet minister can present an unaudited financial statement as proof and challenge against an audited statement from the auditor general, and the imbeciles in government can bang on the table applauding him for doing so; and then turn and disparage the auditor general, that speaks volumes about government transparency and accountability.

Everybody in this country talks. Very few actually do something.
