*Conventions are about more than the top of the party too – they are about the grassroots. They are about listening to the needs of party members on the ground, all the more important for those on Family Islands who might lack the ear of leadership on a daily basis.*
Since when in the history of the Bahamas has any political party conventions been about listening to the people? They have only been about showcasing themselves.
I have one question for Davis with his so called interests in Bahamians first deals. Where was you interests for Bahamians first when your government supported the Chinese company to grab BahaMar from a permanent Bahamian resident?
Clearly Davis is on a political talk. To claim the people presenting the proposals are FNM insiders, showed his is not about Bahamians but about politics.
Imagine signing up for NHI only to find out that all the doctors on your island are full and not accepting new patients. While health insurance is important, the problem with our system is that it still makes no sense. One thing i are with Minnis on is trying to run 3 systems for health and they all bucking up into each other and not making anything better.
How many countries that seek to attract business do you see making stuff like this front page? They may report it, but they stent hide it on the back pages so you have to search to find it. Not us, we like to plaster it on the front page and then think people would want to do business in an environment like this. Go figure.
If the decision rest with Minnis, then I would be surprised if there is a convention. But Watson makes sense. Come together and talks things out. But unfortunately, Minnis is becoming another Pindling - he does not like dissent or people challenging him.
The question will be if that his words, or is that the words that the article writer used. Notice, there are no quotation marks around the statement, so it could e what the article writer is saying.
