And the reason we wasted this amount of money on a audit by a firm that no one really knows about is....? And the government have the stupidity to get up and say they need to introduce VAT cause they have no money? Stop wasting money with this kind of excessive and unnecessary spending.

How interesting that this part of the report was not leaked before being presented in Parliament.

It is victimization which is akin to genocide, when you single out a specific group of persons tied to one particular entity, organization or nationality. His reference to a particular group to fire leads to victimization.

However, it is amazing how Brown has suddenly become the biggest supporter of the PLP that he claims victimized him. Politics make strange bedfellows.

How could the comment be made that this is the first time we have hosted an event of this magnitude. Did we not host Carifta before?

Yes we should react negatively to what the Minister said about making low end jobs available for Bahamians. What about the high end jobs? Why does not he restrict those permits? Are Bahamians not good enough for those? In fact we need to react negatively, because rather than talking about reserving menial level jobs for Bahamians, the government need to be making sure that Bahamians become real owners in this economy and that they work to sign the front and not the back of checks. Mitchell talk should be an insult to all Bahamians. Slavery is over. Governments should be working to make people true owners. And I am not talking about saying we own BTC yet we never get a dividend or a voice in the decision. When I own, I make decisions. That is what governments should be doing. WOrk to make citizens true owners of their own businesses. Start with getting the banks to grant loans to people for businesses and not cars, then you get my support.

So if the findings are so shocking, why then is it taking them an eternity to act? I cry shame on the Minister for seeking to smear the character of individuals with his innuendoes, without putting the facts on the table. This type of garbage dump politics needs to stop. Put then again, it probably speaks to the caliber of persons in our society that they would put a person of that caliber in the House of Assembly. i guess you do get what you vote for.

What the hell are the topics of mutual interests? Can we talk about wasting money. This man travels more than the Prime Minister and can I say on non essential trips that are of no benefit to the country.

If you read the second sentence in the story it mentions DNA very clear. Can we please grow up in this country and stop trying to make everything about politics. That era is dead. We now have enlightened people in the Bahamas.

Why do we have to bring race into things. I am sure there are other segments of the population that are not there. Whether a person is at Carifta or not is there free choice. Could it be that that segment of the population is in Jamaica supporting our athletes at the swimming portion of Carifta? Someone had to go to support them. Let's stop thinking negative of people as at the end of the day we are all Bahamians, irrespective of which segment of society we come from.

I am amazed that people who called themselves Christians are so intolerant of others. Carifta is held the same time every year, and if a individual feel its sacrilegious then don't go. However, your issue should not hinder me from celebrating Cartifa. Furthermore, to the folks who feel it is sacrilegious to be celebrating Carifta, find me one Bible text where Jesus told us to celebrate Passover after the cross. The reason the veil was torn in the temple was because Jesus died. That is why he instituted Communion as Passover was no longer relevant with the death of Jesus, as Passover pointed towards his death. So for folks who want to say this is sacrilegious, check you history and you note, this so called "Easter/Passover" had nothing to do with Christianity, but paganism. Now that is sacrilegious. So I will enjoy my Carifta.
