If you come here illegally, disregarding the laws of this country, there is no way you should be entitled to legal status. If you break the law you to to jail, not be rewarded with citizenship.
Furthermore, in another article, Dr Antoine talks about children being stateless. No child when they are born is stateless. It is just many of the immigrants he refers to do not want to take their home nationality. No way should it be automatic, especially for illegal immigrants.
SInce when does an individual being charge with something makes them guilty. What happens when the case is tried and it may be found that he was innocent all along.

And of all the countries I have heard them name that have VAT in place, not a one of those countries economies is better than the Bahamas present economy even as bad a state as we are in. And we want to be the monkey to follow others blindly.

Yet we send all of our Bahamian youth to Fox Hill if they are caught with it and give them and prison record they have to carry for the rest of their lives. Or we sentenced a Bahamian who never committed a crime for stealing electrifying or resisting police arrest, while a tourist can beat up Bahamian police and only be give a fine. I guess this is what it means to put Bahamians first.
Something is terrible wrong when the Prime Minister of this country justifies an illegal act continuing in operation and then expects citizens of a country to abide by laws. I appreciate the tribune editorials, and the research that goes into making them factual. However, this one has not been factually checked. Search history and you will find that December 25 has nothing to do with the birth of Christ and Christ being born on that day. Let's make sure we get the facts right. it is a pagan celebration date that was sadly brought into Christianity.
The sad reality is that the Westminster system was compromised from 1992 when Sir Lynden did not resign after losing the election as the sitting Prime Minister as Westminster says. It happens again in 207 when the sitting Prime Minister in Perry Christie lost the election and did not resign. Should we expect the PLP lead by a man who defied the Westminster system in 2007 to do any different in 2012? Democracy is dead in the Bahamas.
