It is unfortunate but really I am not surprised. A political culture has been bred in this country since 1967 which encourages the abuse of public entities by the elected official and which is based on a belief that pillage and destruction is justifiable in the name of party affiliation. Elections are about choosing the lesser of two evils, i.e. which group do we think will tief the least. There is also the willingness of the voting public to ignore flagrant abuses of power and an acceptance that those who offer themselves for political office are really only doing so to enrich themselves at the public expense. In this whole NIB debacle, anyone watching from the beginning knew that the **** was going to hit the fan eventually simply because there was some political syncophant who was tapped for the Director's job. Except there was one problem, there was a sitting Director with a recently renewed contract. So, how do you get rid of him? Easy! From day one you embark on a systematic program to neuter and discredit him. Then you engage a smut, gutter publication to spread the "word". I wonder why politicians believe that they are somehow immune from the consequences of their actions...In the words of the late Sir Lynden Oscar Pindling I say to them "what goes around comes around my brudder!" Today for me, tomorrow for you!!

So what we (the people) guh do about it? We always so quiet about this sort of thing. Remember the money at National Insurance is not government earnings, i.e. money destined for the Consolidated Fund. This money is truly the people's money and as a result we should be marching down Blue Hill Road and to Rawson Square demanding an accounting. I keep trying to figure out why national insurance funds are always targeted as easy pickings. Is there a systemic problem in that Agency which makes it vulnerable to the avarice of politicians? We need some accountability now on this matter and the Prime Minister playing possum!

Well "DUH"! Ya'll wasn't so fool as to believe Christie would actually do something, hey? The only "change" Christie does is change his clothes. But on a serious note...for Christie to suspend or remove Moss would be too much fodder for Christie's political opponents. And he certainly wouldn't have been able to take that heat. I think however that in this matter, Christie is listening too much to his syncophants. It seems too that in this matter Christie forgets that his legacy is really about perception and perception is everything.

Decisive, Mr. D'Aguilar? Surely you jest! Remember who you're talking to now. A Prime Minister who because he "believes in second chances" will refuse to act unless the public hue and cry forces him too. Just reflecting on the Cabinet Room Championship Boxing Match...The PM is a betting man in my view: whether or not he acts in any political crisis depends on his gamble that time longer than rope...the more time that elapses, the less the incident will be remembered and the need for action will go away.

Cookie jars and Cookie jars...there must be something twisted in the dna and flowing through the veins of PLPs that prevents them from understanding that the public purse, i.e. the people's money is not their personal playground. And it appears that this taint is generational...
