Solar energy is easy to obtain, but very expensive to store, way more expensive than BPL.

the community where i live paid out of our own pockets to build 3 drains, we used a major contractor and paid nearly 40,000.

We pay some guys about $100 every year to clean the drain.

the drains have never failed and people stop by to ask who built the drain and why there is never any water in our corner.

the next corner's govt drain always has a puddle in it.

this red herring died when the long island sea receded.

the govt offices have will open tomorrow except for areas that have not been given all clear and the evacuated islands.

What about schools? will schools open?

the hospitals were not closed.

non-emergency care was suspended.

BTW emergency services were suspended in certain areas of florida, i just heard on tv.

i have no problem footing this bill.

better than wasting on carnival to keep some fat cats in style.

and remember also, a small business does buy in bulk quantities so sometimes pays higher prices.

in the Bahamas, the wholesaler also functions as retailer sometimes, thus being able to charge less.

but there is another reason people claim price gouging: different products. Let's say the cheap tuna is gone, and now you have to buy albacore tuna, you then call the radio station to say you paid 2.50 for the tuna instead of a dollar and claim gouging.

but truly, the prices are gouged any time of the day.
