Last night was a perfect opportunity for ALL of these radio stations to update the public on what was going on. Was searching up & down with my battery-operated radio trying to find SOME news, but nothing but hip hop rubbish on. SMT!
More stupidity. The recent talk about offering citizenship to non-Bahamians with unlimited funds; why become a citizen if you won't be allowed to gamble in the casinos? Why be a Permanent Resident if you can't gamble in the casinos? These people have $$$$$ to spend and the government is saying 'NO' you can't gamble with it here. Dumb.
Speaking of clearing drains, was in the downtown area today (June 14th) and saw at least four drains in front of the Rodney Bain Building @ Parliament & Shirley Streets that are among MANY that should be cleared out; packed solid with debris and small trees sprouting! This is island-wide! Are people being paid to do this job or does no one notice things like this? Two minutes of rain and everywhere is flooded because the drains are blocked! It's Hurricane Season: they work should be on-going! Wasn't there a vacuum type truck that did this job? Shovels and gunk piled along the side to the road is so backwards.
Do you realize that the drug problem is part of the crime problem? Gangs trying to control the movement of drugs through neighbourhoods, this thug stealing from the other thug, drug money buying guns etc. The use of 'icredibly harmless ' marijuana is known to lead to the use of harder drugs. How many lunatics you think are driving these streets under the influence of weed and alcohol? Too many! How can a country advance if everyone is high on their drug of choice, and that includes prescription medicines too.
Fred Mitchell ran for Fox Hill (PLP). Hubert Chipman ran for St. Anne's (FNM). He replaced Brent Symonette (FNM) who was the previous representative. Mitchell and Symonette were in two different constituencies.
Saw on a PBS site the listing for a documentary called god loves uganda that I'd like to see. It discusses how the U.S evangelic church is behind this movement in Uganda, not really concerned that they may be endangering people's lives. How their actions would not be allowed back in their US homeland (hate crime?) but since it is about 'God' is allowed in Uganda.
So now people are happy for the Privy Council's decision, yet when they say 'No Hanging' the response is "We independent! We don't need no Privy Council!" Hmmmm.
