Any company subject to this kind of Board of Directors philosophy could not and would not survive in a legitimate Corporate business in any fourth world country, A tenant does not pay rent for 5 years ( 60 months) and they are still allowed to proceed as business as usual, apparently until months before a general election.Certainly one or more of the Directors being esteem business people having accepted and entrusted with protecting the Bahamian people tax monies and ensuring all bahamians are treated fairly in doing so would have should have resigned forthwith. This Board of directors have certainly failed and should refrain from accepting any such position on behalf of the Bahamian people again. Seem like sister government agencies of AA and NAD all was being ran very similar. "these are teachable moments "
Now we see why the people of the world who have not visited the Bahamas is of the belief that all Bahamians are wealthy. We have plenty of white sandy Beaches, beautiful lands and Lots of sunshine, and when our government is not spending the peoples tax payments monies (like drunken sailors in a strip club) in foreign lands to enhance their individual status, its giving most of the Bahamian assets away to foreigners at home to enhance their individual status. It a crying shame, when some Bahamians currently have to utilize outside toilets and burn kerosene lamps and eat what ever if left while a Tourist Cultural Consultant is paid this kind of fees to produce likes of Bahamas Carnival where it costing the people $9 Million a year and no verified or certified income.
So I own a tourist Tee shirt shop downtown and my staff come in to work but is rains all day and I get no customers in the shop, I don't have to pay my staff for that day. What a way to do business. Only our great God can guarantee events.
We need to get rid of all those cheap looking tee shirts shops ( with pricey tee shirts) owned by foreigners and the smelly animals on Woods Rogers Wharf and replace it with an authentic Bahamian experience similar to Bayfront Park in Miami Florida. Tourist and local Bahamians will enjoy and patronize. Outdoor cafe's, authentic Bahamian foods and local drinks and beer, authentic Bahamian Music and most of all colourfully dressed happy and smiling Bahamian host and hostesses of all ages. We need to give our tourist visitors arriving off the cruise ships something other that a smelly congested third world experience on our great Bahamaland.
The Names of the Directors should also be a part of the HOA records for future reference, since not one of them resigned because of the unethical directives and I am sure will be on the Board of Directors of other government agencies where similar deals were made. Name and shame all civil servants and other persons who have economically raped the Bahamians. its the peoples time!!!!
Every year the Ministry of Tourism and Bahamas Government spend Millions of Tax payers money to market the Bahamas amongst fierce competition in North America, When crimes take place , in particular crimes like these, news spreads quickly in the countries of the victims. Visitors coming to the Bahamas have to be notified of these events by travel agents, on cruise ships and local media. The government need to take immediate action and show the world that all visitors and guest in the Bahamas will be protected to the fullest. I myself a Bahamian was appalled at what I observed taking place on Atlantis Beach adjoining Cabbage beach( while there with my wife and young daughter ) with a young tourist lady who was being fed and Smoking marijuana provided local men vendors on the beach in the open with hotel guess and their young families all around. I had to relocate on the beach because of the strong smell.
Every living Bahamian know that the FMN government was elected by an overwhelmingly majority to be transparent with the peoples business and produce results. Why are the Documents affecting the Sale of Baha Mar not yet been released to show the Bahamian People the amount of Bahamian Assets have been given away. Why are there not results? What is being done and the reasonable time frame to have these documents made public. All that we are being told is that everyone is working on it, and that sounds very familiar from the past.
Perhaps Mr. Gibson was running for a cabinet Ministers position, but the great people of Long Island elected him instead as THEIR representative in the House of Parliament. it all the peoples time!!!
