The Bahamas Government should rescind the Licenses and close all the webshops and establish National Lottery. The large profits from Bahamian Gamblers should be used for the betterment of Bahamian People by funding , education, ( where the government has to feed, educate our children) HEALTH ( where Government has to provide health and social services for the children and elderly senior citizens) and real pension income for the senior citizens ( who have paved the way and made sacrifices for a better Bahamas). The Big webshop bosses are sitting back and looking down on the fools including politicians that they can buy and control with money, suckered from the poor despite people who give them 90 cents out of every dollar that is waged. The government need to stand strong and govern the betterment of ALL Bahamians.

I would be surprised if the real accurate financial reports from the Webshops reflect the Bahamian Gaming public receiving more that 10 percent of their wagers back in winnings. 90 cents of every dollar goes in the webshop boys pockets.
If the webshops cartel take legal action against the government, Government should suspend and rescind the Licenses and suspend all webshop activity until a legal decision has been rendered. Patrons of the webshop play by their rules or are removed from their premises.

To preserve the integrity and honesty of the title, no previous or current government member should NEVER be bestowed the title.

Mr. Laing in essence is saying that we, the Bahamian People are unintelligent and stupid.
Perhaps he need to be reminded that the PLP ( the opposition party) won the 2012 elections by a landslide victory of 30 seats to 8 seats for the FNM despite his telling us that "papa doc" oh, "papa ingraham" government created paradise for The Bahamian People. I guess, we just liked "YELLOW" better the "RED".
Being a Member of the 2007-2012 "papa whoever" Government and a protégé of the leader would certainly not be proud of taking away the NIB pension of Individuals who had contributed to the pension programme since it inception in 1974.because of the gross mismanagement and corruption of the pension fund. Many senior citizens like myself are paying the consequences today in trying to survive. Maybe he will be better off in is senior citizen days because of being member of the previous FNM government.

The Webshop boys spokeman must think Bahamians are really really stupid. The Bahamian people overwhelming and unequivocally said NO to a government referendum on weather or not to legalize the Illegal Numbers and Webshops Industry. Now he is on all the an Radio talk shows attempting to justify why they should be in existence and not subjected to the new taxes levied on their Social parasitical industry. Hope that these shows are being paid well to bring this kind of talk to the Bahamian people.

The Webshop boys bought out the previous Government for very little ( couple of thousand dollars in their pockets) and are trying to bully the present Government into meeting their demands. sorry it will not work. Closed your doors, pack up and be gone. Its a national lottery time, where the profits will help fund education, Health and the old pensioners.

The Government should tax the gamblers at a rate of 25 percent on winnings of $100.00 or more.

If the People of the Dominican Republic across the border figured it out, why the Bahamian people (RBDF) 139 nautical miles away by open ocean cannot figure it out.

The Webshop cartels love the government to talk and implement higher taxes on the Bahamian people. The higher the taxes the more desperate the 80 percent gaming Bahamian population become and consequently increased their business and profits. Incidentally, have you noticed how fat the politician have gotten since the elections, man, busting out of they suits. Think they meals menus include Corned beef and grits or Tuna fish and grits???

Its the " peoples time". Hopefully the current Government will not follow the action taken in 2011 by the "Papa Doc" oh " Papa Ingraham" government that took away all of my NIB pension benefits after contributing since 1974 due to shameless corruption and gross mismanagement of the NIB Funds. As all interested Bahamians realize, NIB is the "cash cow" for the Insolvent BOB, after BOB handed out millions of dollars in unsecured and now delinquent loans to members of government, their families, friends and lovers. . The past governments have economically raped the Bahamian people through the shameless corrupt politicians, their Families, friends and many lovers. The imf, world bank and all the other world financial agencies are telling Bahamians that they cannot entrust their financial well being to the Government, past, current or future due to corruption and mismanagement of NIB Contributions (Taxes), VAT or the inevitable income Taxes. .
