Its the " peoples time" government. Hopefully they will not repeat the action that the 2011 "Papa Doc" oh " Papa Ingraham" took, taking away ALL of my NIB pension benefits after contributing since 1974 point blank. After paying all the corrupt and shamless politicians that economically raped the bahamian people along with their families, friends and their many lovers. nib is the cash cow for BOB to replace the millions of dollars given to the politically connected delinquent shameless borrowers. The imf, world bank and all the other world financial agencies are telling the Bahamians you cannot depend on the Governments, past, current and future for your financial well being when in need due to shameless corruption and gross mismanagement of the NIB contributions (Taxes) VAT Taxes and inevitably income Taxes.

Hopefully no other Bahamian will encounter my experience with NIB and the pension fund. After enrolling in the NIB in 1974 at the inception and contributing to the fund to get a pension at retirement age, the papa ingraham fnm government in 2011, 37 years later and at retirement age TOOK that benefit away from me because of the gross corruption and gross mismanagement at nib.
Bahamians should consider the NIB contributions as additional taxes and establish and manage their own retirement/pension account.

Hopefully it will NOT be as I experienced in 2011 at retirement age when the Government of papa ingraham took away my pension benefits, despite being enrolled since 1974 and contributing to the NIB pension fund, due to the major corruption and mismanagement of the NIB funds.
NIB pension funds should not be used to bail out corrupt and mismanaged government departments and agencies..
Bahamians should consider contributions to the NIB fund as additional taxes and establish and manage their own retirement/pension funds.

Maybe the Bahamas Law will also include that any Foreign registered Child Sex offender be placed on the Bahamas Immigration stop list. Lets make a difference not only in the Bahamas but in the world.

Very true. What a pathetic day for true bahamians. Additionally, the NIB will retroactively register them for pensions and government housing. When true bahamians like myself had my pension benefits taken away by the PAPA Ingraham government in 2011 and told to go to hell. Hopefully that will not occur again in order to funds all the" foriegn bahamians" being bestowed by " governments in the bahamas. With the high rate of unemployment and another 6 to 7 thousand students coming out of school, why is there not an annual quota system implemented.

Why we are always told what is going to be done, ( intended action) instead of what has been done (action). Who are these slum lords, what penalties have been levied against them. Are the persons living in these towns, Legal registered employed immigrants, are they Illegal Immigrants who are in immigration custody awaiting deportation. Or is this another " you must be registered by december 31 , 2017 or you will be deported back to your country post haste , Band-Aid talk too????

The 30% ( percent) of the foreign work force is for the construction only. The 70 % (percent) Bahamians labour force is for housekeepers, window cleaners and landscapers. Most of the money to remain in the Bahamas for this project was the real estate commission paid for the sale of the property.

Should have been jailed and deported from the country for committing fraud while sitting next to the PM, in front of Cabinet Ministers and in front on the the Country of the Bahamas. The Financial world is watching and so are many others.

And the Illegal Immigrants and Foreigners are singing the song to the Bahamian People, " say what you like, do what you like, we still still got it going our way. This use to be your country, now now is our time.
