Should it not be " People who are born in the Bahamas to "LEGAL" foreign parents in the Bahamas" are entitled to apply. If ANY Parent entered the Bahamas illegally the child is not eligable to apply. The law should be clear and concise and free of any ambiguity.

Since the 2016 elections the words " Its the Peoples time", "Transparency and Accountability" " Where the VAT money gone" " Forensic Audits of government agencies and those found stealing from the people to do the " Bank Lane Shuffle", have now disappeared, fooled ya. The new words are " Its better in the Bahamas for foreigners. The Illegal foreigners are now signing the song" say what you like, do what you like, we still got it going our way". Perhaps a delegation from Amnesty International should have been invited to attend aswell.

Mr, Jean-Charles is a "Bahamas born man of Illegal Immigrant parent (s)". I hope that the Bahamas Attorney General's office will be reimbursed for legal fees and other expensed in having to defending this travesty. The public should be made aware of the cost to the Bahamian people and verification of reimbursement.. Like in 2011 when the Ingraham government took away the Bahamian people pensions and increased the contributions retroactively to the inception date due to mismanagement and corruption.Look for the same thing to be repeated in the not to distant future where the true Bahamian with have to contribute for 50 year before they will be able to collect a pension do to the expenses being incurred for the lack of proper and implemented Immigration Laws.

Since we seem to have a major problem will Illegal Immigrants coming to the Bahamas and giving birth to babies who are then of the opinion that they have Bahamian Citizenship, perhaps the government should implement the following: establish a separate maternity ward away from the hospital with the designation " international territory" where any expecting mother who cannot present proof of bahamian citizenship will be directed to go to give birth, the baby will then be given the nationality of the mother. The government should appeal to amnesty international for financial support and forthem supplying professional doctors and nurses to operate the facility.

The only country in the world where Illegal foreigners tell authentic resident citizens how we are to run our country and who is entitled to Citizenship in our Bahama land. This is the time to say enough is enough and eradicate any and all grey matter to our Immigration Laws and Bahamian Citizenship otherwise our country will be owned by many other countries. rise up bahamians. True919 - it appear that you, unfortunately like many is the reason why the Bahamas may never be more that a third world country. Obviously your reading comprehension level is very low or your reading skills are none existing. I suggest that you get a third grade student to read my post and explain it to you.

In 2011 my pension from NIB was taken away by the Ingraham FNM government at my retirement age because government decided to increase the years of contribution retroactively to the implementation date of 1972. The fund did not have the necessary funds to pay the monthly pension payments mandated by the Lyndon Pindling, PLP government due to the gross mismanagement and rampant corruption of the Agency. With the present NIB having to pay and absorb the losses from the continuous gross mismanagement and rampant corruption in every government agency those currently collecting NIB pension will have the same thing happen in the not too distant future. How can we expect out children to strive for school grades better that D- if all they are exposed to is failure at every level of our governments.

Its world News: Flying Haitian sloops invading the Bahamas. Since The Bahamas is surrounded by water they only have sea patrols around some islands safeguarding the Bahamian people. These flying sloops transporting Haitian citizens and others Illegal immigrants to paradise are landing right next to the Bahamas defense force and army for protection and safety. Proposal accepted to place a HUGH sign on Great Inagua to read " welcome to the bahamas please stop for food and drinks and maps to your island of choice or the capital , new providence. your safety is guaranteed" of course will be in Haitian Creole and English.

It should not matter the colour of your skin and or what country you are from, if you are breaking the laws of the Bahamas by being here illegally, you need to be rounded up at the least expense to the country and deported, deported immediately, and given notice to NOT return again. period. They should not expect or receive any kind of " Judicial due process " that should only be reserved for Citizens and law abiding Foreigners here legally. When you enter the country illegally, you give up any rights to that country's Judicial process of law because you have no legal rights to be here. period. The government need to govern and send the message loud and clear to citizens of other country especially, countries in the Caribbean, that the Bahamas is a country of Law and order and don't come here illegally and expect a " cake ride".
