Once you have a wish'y- wash'y Government, the Web shop people ( business) will never be satisfied until they have full control of the nation and make the rules as they see fit. That is the nature of their business. The previous government and the Current government fail to understand, the process of a National cancer and its progression stages. Stop the madness, Pass Legislation to revoke all Web shops licenses and implement in its place a national lottery that will benefit all Bahamians. Start giving back to the people as that was the purpose for which you were elected.
The only time that an effective Government should tell the citizens what they are going to go is at the Initial Speech by the Governor General at the opening of the new Parliament. Every other speech should state what has been the results of the governments actions. Like the speeches and Promises made before being elected of which very very little have been realized , so far, talk is cheap and credibility is everything. Time waits for no one.
TIs this right out of the PUNCH "grapevine gossip page?? If you break the law, name and shame the parlimentarians that do not file their Law demanding disclosure returns on time. If we ordinary citizens break the law, we are named and shamed ( maybe).
After taking all NIB old aged pensioners funds into BOB and handing it out in unsecured loans to delinquent dead beat Members of government, their families, lovers and friends that cost the Bahamian Citizens and in particular the old aged pensioners millions of dollars this paper got him looking like Santa Clause donating 25 bed back to the Bahamian people. Why keep rubbing this stuff in our faces. No Shame???
The Government just gave the Webshop Boys $25 Million of the Bahamian tax payers money, so there is local capital available for Bahamians to find local Mafia Investors.,
It was Papa (Doc) Ingraham that in 2011 took away the Senior Citizens small amount of monthly National Insurance Benefits, due to corruption, mismanagement and incompetence.
Maybe the fact that these two Jokers are not incarcerated for running corrupt and more corrupt governments and for keeping 95 percent of the Bahamian citizens down and out year after year when they were head of government is sufficient horror. While 95 percent of Bahamian are living off of corn beef and rice with sugar free Switcha, they are dinning of steaks, Lobster and fine wines.
Not Surprising that The Web shops cartel beat we "one and done" Government. Everyone who has the money and files or threaten to file a complaint with the courts will win and beat down the government, ( examine the very short history). coruption, incompetence and slackness is the rule of our country. The next general election will see the Bahamian people win. The Bahamas is already on Man's black list the next black list will be God.s The web shop boys owned the previous government and now own the current government. Hopefully for the country they are NOT the next government.
the true facts are: the Web Shops annua projectedl taxes were increased by $13 million or 59%(( from $22 Million to $35 Million). V.A.T went from 7.5 % to 12% or an increase of 60%. The other $15 Million that the government is including in their projected income figures will come from the PEOPLE or web shop patrons and not the web shops. Please say what it is and stop trying to pull the wool over the Bahamian people"s eyes. End it all by establishing a national lottery for the benefit of all Bahamian people for the much needed better education, health and social services systems.
it is what it is bro!!! Every Bahamian child from the age where they can tell right and wrong know this. The first words that we learn to say and spell is corruption, imcompetence and slackness.
