The present Hayward & St.George inheritors of the GBPA are as greedy, myopic and selfish as the Bahamian stooges who they have "running" the GBPA. The vision of Freeport died with the fathers & Ingraham. The HW monster just hastened the demise of GBPA.
The present GBPA owners are not interested in major long term investment, just sucking whatever little profit is left in Freeport and sending it overseas.
LastMan, don't compare Covid lockdowns with postCovid PLP gimmicks. Most of what Brave did after Sept 2021 was inevitable to happen regarding Covid protocols.
But we can all see that Brave has no real strategy to implement all of his New Day rhetoric.
What if any tangible difference has the New Day PLP done when it comes to: 1. Illegal migration/human smuggling. 2. Guns & murder. 3. FI infrastructure. 4. Local government. 5. Public service reform. 6. Public Transport 7. Agriculture. 8. Education. 9. Health. 10. Environment
Lots of talk, ceremony, travel & PR gimmicks, but little changes seen on the ground. The place is dirtier, the people are more stressed and pockets are emptier.
Birdie, the PLP is a party of illusion ....... Nothing of substance has been done since Sept 2021.
Lots of talk, travel and ceremony, but very little action on the ground. But watch how much spending will take place. Padded contracts and hiring of PLP friends, family and lovers will be the order of the day.
Sad reality is that most of our senior athletes have very little support system in The Bahamas. Most have to work full time and struggle to train at inferior facilities in Nassau.
If they were not born into money, go to the USA, or have world class talent, very few have the means to pursue their dreams beyond college here at home
this must change. we can't throw a jersey on them and then don't assist them to succeed.

Do the math ....... Each dome cost our Govt $30,000.
So, is it wise to demolish them? Wasting public funds should not be treated as such a frivolous matter.
Sell or auction them off, but don't destroy them.
Knowing how things go in 242, they will vanish and pop up in some interesting places and spaces soon.

The Govt, the private sector and the citizens must appreciate and support our 242 athletes on this lonely journey.
