There are far smaller countries than The Bahamas that win medals at the Olympics ........ That claim is fake news.

Grenada & St.Lucia put that claim to rest for good this year.

We didn't win any medals because our Governments have failed to either invest in the senior athletes OR provide sufficient incentives to want them to compete beyond just satisfying their private sponsor contracts.

The Government needs to pay more attention to the 20-30 year old athletes who do not get the big shoe contract in college. In most cases, the Government has done very little to brag about the private contracts that the privileged few super athletes get.

Not all athletes are either gifted or rich. Many struggle like hell to meet basic needs. These are the athletes that the Government needs to find and assist. But, politics is a bitch.

On No medals, no per capita victory

You sound just like those apologists for the New Day crew. Believe what you want. Be gullible & proud.

So, if Gardiner knew that he couldn't run or won't run, why give Bahamians false hope???? There were other younger athletes who could have benefited from the experience.

We don't fund his personal wealth but we pay taxes. And these trips cost many thousands of dollars. If he just got his Adidas contract renewed for millions, that's good for him. Now go and build a track in Moore's Island for his ppl. Give back to where he came from. Put some skin in the game.

These athletes are becoming as disingenuous as the pastors, politicians and police. Smt.

Decathlon is for superhumans ...... No doubt about it.

We praise those athletes who specialize in ONE event and achieve greatness. That is well and fine. But, those special athletes who go above and beyond like Ken (with very little Government or corporate sponsorship) and dedicate their athletic careers to a passion, must be recognized and given their due for representing this country with PRIDE and GRACE.

He deserves this national record in the decathlon to add to his record in the heptathlon. He will be remembered as one of the most unique (though underrated) athletes in The Bahamas.

God bless him for his patriotic service to country.

The PLP political machinery is so good at spinning bullshit that they are trying to sell Bahamians a false hope about big tourist numbers. These numbers are LIES.

If the people don't feel the tourist money, it doesn't matter how many people are coming on those big ass floating hotels.

PM Davis always goes overseas for medical attention. He brags that his own daughter practices medicine overseas. Many of his peers have children who live and work abroad. Even Perry's wife has left the country.

So, how can he tell Bahamians to love their country and stay at home after getting educated? Or stay at home and support your country's service providers and professionals etc?

He is a poor example to ordinary Bahamians. Period.

URCA is toothless

This report is a joke.

The PLP govt, Snake & Pike will piss on the BPL unions and the consumers and tell us that it's raining.

Meanwhile, the new BPL will be milked to the last drop and the Bahamian public will pay for it.

On URCA: BPL must slash outage frequency 40%

Bahamian law prohibits any other law enforcement agency to lead an investigation in the country.
The politicians know that.

So that is why the PM has his PF sycophants pretending to "investigate" this matter instead of setting up a Commission of Inquiry where outside experts CAN investigate the PF.

But this will backfire on the New Day crew

sheeprunner12 says...

Bowleg dem don't give a rat's ass about Bahamian athletes ........ Go and ask the 20 athletes if they feel any real appreciation from MOYSC.

These politicians use these athletes as pawns for their own limelight. The athletes have to scratch and claw for anything that benefits them.

On Bowleg defends Bahamas’ olympic outfits
