It seems as if we switched the UBP in 1967 for the PLP/FNM, but 85% of the macro-economic policies and national economic philosophy have remained the same.
We just switch the white Bay Street Boys for the black Sunshine Boys.
The masses are still been oppressed by institutional corruption, regressive taxes & national monopolies & an unproductive civil service hamstring the nation. Add to that high debt & crime and poorly educated & adjusted youth.
The FNM has stood by since 2021 and watch the New Day PLP dismantle every fiscal responsibility act that was on the Parliament books prior to Sept 2021........ So is it not a bit late now to complain????
How is the national revenue going to grow at a higher rate, when 80% of the tourists who come here on cruise ships and bring little or no real financial increase to the average Bahamian entrepreneur???
Maybe this esteemed financial guru can explain that.
Our media houses, whether print, TV or radio must first stop being intimidated by the political class and have the BALLS like the late Ivan Johnson (The Punch) know exposed and humbled many a cocky public officer.
The media has sold out ....... from Clint Watson, Juan McCartney to the present OPM spokesperson and many others ....... Journalists & media bosses have to stop singing for their suppers (contracts).
That is my humble opinion of what is wrong with the media & why we cannot get answers from 242 politicians.
